Wow. This has breathed new life into me for reading here on royal road. I've found myself aching for more and more.
The story is stellar. Plot seems to be amazing from what I've read so far. The whole thing is new to me. The idea that out main character's entire known life was simply a dream used to keep him in line? Stellar.
The anime-esque fight scenes have been amazing as well. The opening fight scene having captured my attention and gotten me hooked on the story as a whole. The author uses their pacing and grammar to accentuate the details of the story, and I'm here for it.
I'm in love with the style of this story. It reads quickly, but is long enough to feel substantial. Skirting the middle ground between a fast Read and a long haul attempt. There looks to be plenty of open space for the book as well, with a very generalized goal that still feels unique to the characters involved. We know what the main character wants to do, but how he gets there feels like a sandbox. Anything could happen, and I think that sets the author up to give us some real curve balls later on.
The characters themselves are amazing too. Our main character is the "hope of the universe." But he's introduced to us as a simple accountant. The slow burn realization that his entire life on our planet was simply a dream helps to add real depth to him and his struggles. He is a man who yearns for freedom, but has found himself trapped in a prison. It's a classic conundrum with an epic escape sequence!
The side characters are just as impactful imo. I don't want to give away too many spoilers in any of my reviews, but the first battle left me with so many questions about just WHO this girl was. Why was she so strong? What are her powers? What's her role in the main characters life? And I'm super excited to see where the author takes us moving forwards.
I gave this story 5 stars, not because I've finished and liked the whole thing. But instead because I haven't finished it and im actively pushing m

The idea of a massive palace containing entire cities and worlds has captivated me since childhood. The seamless transition from the familiar to the extraordinary drew me in completely, engaging my curiosity like few stories ever have. This book is masterfully crafted—not just igniting my imagination, but challenging the way I think. Every word held a touch of magic, and for a moment, I didn’t just read it—I believed in it.

I just read the first chapter and I’m hooked. I really enjoyed the tension building you developed between the characters. I’m curious to see where this story goes. It has some matrix and dragon ball tournament vibes. I think I’m most interested in learning about this greatest battle coming up and whoever this bad guy is.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this first chapter. Every well written, with excellent world building. The story has lots of great action in it and I am excited to see where it goes next. I recommend it to anyone else that is interested in this genre. The characters are well thought out, and there’s engaging banter between the main characters identified in this point in the story.

The idea of a flat Earth floating above a Void, populated by flying "flowers" and "Shadow Dwellers," is highly original and sparks immediate curiosity. The potential for exploring this world is immense. The concepts of "The Guardian" and "The Greatest Fight" are also intriguing.
The author has a talent for crafting vivid and atmospheric visual imagery. For instance, descriptions of the Void, the aggressive flowers, or the arrival of the Shadow Dwellers are very lively and help the reader visualize the scenes.
The manuscript consistently explores themes of gratitude, destiny, and the search for life's meaning. The repeated motif of "The Key to Happiness is Gratitude" serves as a powerful underlying message.
The presence of Mother, the messages from the creatures, and the riddles surrounding "The Greatest Fight" effectively maintain intrigue throughout the narrative. Readers are compelled to continue reading to unravel the world's secrets.
Roa is portrayed as a character undergoing development. From his initial confusion, he gradually accepts his destiny and begins to show spiritual growth and courage.
    Conclusion:
"The Greatest Fight" possesses a highly imaginative and promising premise, supported by strong descriptive prose and intriguing philosophical themes. The potential for developing a rich world and a profound storyline is significant. This Story has the potential to become a truly captivating and unique fantasy novel. It's a strong start with many exciting ideas to further explore."

Boldly imaginative, this story captivates with hidden realities and cosmic significance. The surreal image of pink clouds below a cliff edge creates an instantly striking atmosphere. Nirvana's strong personality and the hints of a vast multiverse "The Palace," "The Dreamer" spark curiosity. The story promises an adventure of both mind and spirit.

    Style:
The general theme that it seems to be going for is that fast-paced Dragon Ball Z sort of action adventure, with to-the-point dialogue that mostly serves to punctuate fights. I’m not going to say it doesn’t work and I’m not going to say it’s not enjoyable; it does exactly what it sets out to do, though some of the more trope-y aspects of DBZ tend to bleed through (e.g. firing multiple energy blasts that do little other than throw up an obfuscating dust cloud). The tropes themselves aren’t inherently bad, and my personal preference is I quite enjoy them, though your mileage may vary.
    Story:
While I enjoyed the story itself, I feel that in places it was held back significantly by the oft times incredibly rushed pacing of it all. I get what that pacing was trying to achieve, especially where fight scenes are involved. The intent was to show the fast-paced nature of the battle, but even during the fight, the story could have benefited from taking the occasional breath. There’s nothing wrong with that fast pacing, so long as its strictly limited, otherwise it feels exhausting to keep up with, especially outside of fight scenes.
Everything else; the Palace, the dimension-hopping, the pseudo-time-loop that seems to be going on with the Rest, are all really positive aspects. There’s a lot of potential for some fun twists and turns later down the line. The only thing holding it back is the pacing.
    Grammar:
It’s all competent and well-formatted. There was nothing that caught my eye or dragged me out of the story while I was reading, nothing I could particularly fault without being a needlessly massive pedant.
    Character:
Roa, being the main character, has multiple chapters to explore his motivations and to reflect on how the story is unfolding around him, but I feel it leaves the rest of the characters a little bare bones. Roa is the affable sort of every-man; world-weary, dragged down by society but never dragged under, determined, and relatable. He’s a great main chara

There's definitely a lot going on in this story. Borders on too much sometimes but still overall followable. Execution is very nice, clear strong hold of language and vision for a very bold world. If someone is looking for something that's as far from down to Earth as possible then this is the story for them.

Love the dialogue in this first chapter! The back and forth banter is really fun to read, and I’m interested to see where the story goes. There are a few places where maybe ‘you are’ should have been ‘you’re’ to match with the casual style of the dialogue, but it doesn’t detract too much. The whole thing gives me Matrix vibes, so we’ll see where it goes.

Once upon a time, an accountant realized his life was empty.  He and his girlfriend ran off together.  They went for breakfast at an odd diner.  The waitress was an interdimensional crime boss who wanted to help him find true freedom, even if only for her own gain...
This work is what happens when Sliders meets Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, with very little actual cultivation in the first ten chapters.  This work is fun to read, and therefore recommended...just be advised it also reads a bit like an acid trip on steroids.
First, the story does something interesting for an isekai - it plays the MC's backstory as both straight and metaphor, truth and lie, all at the same time.  Isekai stories typically see another character leaving behind an uncomfortable life for grand adventure.  In this case, it's also a metaphor for modern, grinding "professional" life that feels like and is a prison.  Yes, this work makes me think someone slipped shrooms into my stir fry, but there is an interesting set of ideas here about what it means to voluntarily leave an abusive system and life.
The characters are interesting.  On the one hand, most are not as well developed as I would normally like, however the trippiness of the plot almost makes it irrelevant...because it is.  The MC is fundamentally trying to understand himself.  It's his show, and the loving guidance his girlfriend gave him helps him to truly free himself.
The style...this is a hard rating to give.  On the one hand, the trippiness is refreshingly good.  The inspiration from a certain piece of British sci-fi is clear.  However, this same trippiness is also a bit overbearing, to the detriment of the work.  The disconnected, borderline hallucination nature of this piece is intentional, of course.  However, this is also a risky play that, while it helps deliver some ideas, makes the overall work harder to parse.
Lastly, the grammar.  Due to the style of this work, there's little margin for error.  Fortunately, the editi
