Description
One day, sitting in a bar, drowning her sadness in juice, Teresa meets the Future. And then, she meets Wisdom too, and all kinds of other mythical beings who proceed to meddle in her sad little life, for reasons she cannot even guess.
What she does find out, though, is one thing: The Future runs around stealing tears from strangers. Why? Well, I did say that our poor little Teresa just knows one thing, didn't I?
This story contains heavy themes, including mental illness, existential crisis and death.
Enjoy!~

- ThrawniRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, I have to scratch together my English skills, so here goes nothing.
Since I already know the German version, I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your translation so far (for reference later, at the moment the sixth chapter has been released). The overall style that I already liked in the German version still comes through and was possibly even improved by a few small changes - as I have alredy said on a different occasion, I found the added comparison of the Future with the deer that was run over by a car in chapter 2 really fitting in this regard.
In addition, some of the added details make me see some connections more clearlier now - for instance, the explicit mention that water melons are Teresa's favourite fruit (I must admit, I have missed the watermelon connection in the German version). Of course, this kind of comes with the downside of being a little bit less subtle in some ways, but I think overall this will be an improvement if people can connect all those little dots a bit better.
It also seems to me that you try to further improve the representation in your story (as it was now mentioned that Teresa is Latina in the fourth chapter), which is always a good thing.
There is one thing in chapter 6 where I kind of stumbled a little bit when reading it - in Sophie's memory, there is a part where she says: “And then I worked part-time for two years to save some money to find something to do somewhere else in the world, but I had to stop three months ago when I realized I just wasn't good with children.” It is not specified here that her part-time job had to do with children, so it was a little bit puzzling to me when the fact that she was not good with children was mentioned as the reason why she quit. The profession is mentioned in the German version, as far as I remember, so there it seems to make a bit more sense to me (if I have not overlooked the mentioning of her profession in the English version).
I am always bad with last words in reviews . - inneresPartyhuetchen:aufsetzenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the story and the characters. The depiction of depression is good. The only thing that I do not like is Teresa being one of those people that are overly intelligent an succesful in their academic career because that's something that consumes a lot of you as a person. I would like to know more about how that's working. Whats with her lectures?
I really enjoy the sort of short storys in the main story. They are very nicely embedded.
