- XiellionRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0If you're in for a short mecha story about trying to find purpose in a meaningless struggle of life, then this might be it for you.
The story is basically just about that. A long roadtrip to nowhere, with five men ready to die at any moment, yet still continue to look for something to live for and a lonely girl with a suit of armor. Aliens have taken over the world, but this is more of a reflection of the lives they used to live back then as they blast some brains out with bullets. It does not have any direction, rather, it's more about small changes they can do for the world around them throughout their journey.
Style is great, the best part about the dialogue is how they're constantly trying to come up with rhymes both on and off fights. Speaking of fights, the author doesn't seem to miss. Whether it be gunfights or robot battles, they don't disappoint when it comes to describing action-packed fight scenes.
Grammar is fairly decent, just need a little bit of reworking.
Characters are fun. Four old men. One girl. And a dude with glasses. Each character gets their own time to shine, and they all have different personalities that mesh well with their interactions. They even name themselves after their signature clothing.
