- laltopiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love the fact you went for a fun plot with a female lead. It is the first female lead character I have ever seen and is a good one !
Good and easy to read chapters, reached the end of the second one without realizing.
I hope the future of Maria Marigold is as amazing as the history potential. - Lucian T. EinarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is fantastic! The Demon King's Daughter Loves Large Chests has me completely engrossed, and it's not just gripping but also filled with humor. The storytelling is well-made, and I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment.
While I've come across a few grammar errors here and there, they haven't diminished my enjoyment in the least, I'm not particularly good at finding errors, though. I've devoured the story up to the latest chapter, and I'm absolutely hooked.
Now, let me talk about Maria – she's a riot! A self-proclaimed hero (or forcefully made I guess), an unapologetic lesbian (I guess she is) with a penchant for admiring other women's assets. It's certainly a morally gray area, but that's precisely what makes her character so funny.
But don't jump to conclusions; Maria is as determined as they come. She's on a mission, and nothing will deter her from claiming her prize! Her prize if you know what I mean.
Cheers to an exceptional story that blends humor, fantasy, and an unforgettable character like Maria. I can't wait to see where this adventure takes us next!
BTW, Long live Silori! She's definitely the best of the bunch, the perfect instructor.
Other characters are also interesting, I really want to know more about Maria's parents. - Pablo_BruinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I’ve been told the essence of good writing is to promise a premise that will entice your reader and then deliver on that promise as soon as possible. Corbin Witch has given us a familiar premise that is straight forward enough, with a promise of some adult fantasy fare. Combine this with the backdrop of a few subgenres that are tried and tested for success in the LitRPG genre and I feel as if I’m already sold on what I’m getting into. The question is, can the author deliver?
he real trap of a lot of fiction that leads heavily with sexual content is that the writer mistakes a literary medium for a visual spectacle. And I’m pleased to say that Corbin Witch has done an excellent job of creating a Mature LitRPG that is both an action packed, and delightfully amusing read! While we are introduced to a few characters based on their appearance, the lasting impression is often introduced within the same paragraph by ascribing them their own personalities and quirks and then allowing the characters to play off of one another.
But I’m getting ahead of myself–
Let me talk about the premise - This story follows the story of Maria Marigold, a young woman from Detroit who is sent to a system-based fantasy world where her father once ruled under the title of ‘Demon King’. From that point forward the plot picks up the pace and we follow her exploits as she joins an adventurers guild and then falls under the tutelage of its diverse members (Dwarven, Elven, Wizards and more). Naturally this entails some of the more spicy aspects of the premise.
What I really appreciate about Corbin’s approach is that Maria often describes things based on how it makes her feel. From recreational activities to rather vivid action sequences, the narrative is more likely to show you something rather than simply tell you about it. More so, the humor encapsulates this trait as well. There are a few lines the characters will say to each other out of pocket that genuinely made me laugh when I read them. And - Ria CorvidivaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Maria is a... character. The daughter of the man who was Isekai'd years earlier, now she must follow and set right what her father set wrong and find her dad's -- the former Demon King's -- hidden treasure. What is it? We don't know, but it's supposed to be a boon in Maria's quest.
And she's great. A little debauchery and plenty of sapphic lechery make for an entertaining, light-hearted read as Maria gains her footing in this new world, adjusts to the RPG-styled world, and begins her training arc as an adventurer, gaining levels toward her end goal.
And there are plenty of chests to admire along the way. Small chests are nice, sure, but Maria's after the real prize -- big chests, huge chests, bouncy, firm chests, and especially chests with a nice mound of booty alongside.
There are a few grammatical issues and a couple of inconsistencies that I've seen, but nothing particularly distracting or which detract noticeably from readability or overall enjoyment.
Disclaimer: I started reading this and am writing this as part of a review swap, but it's a work I am genuinely enjoying and plan to continue beyond swap obligations. It's cute. Maria is cute. And with my years of experience as a gamer, I too love me some large chests. - The ChaliceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0We get a nice, quick start seeing the antagonist who is no more’s final moments, followed by our main character immediately being thrown somewhere far away from the life she knew. Maria learns about some new grandiose responsibility thrust upon her by a great destiny she was completely unaware of, but she doesn’t shy away from it. This speaks to her character in many ways, I think, though I was pleasantly surprised to see her leverage a deal with the gods for only the most noble of pursuits. Will she inherit the demon king’s treasure and build a godly harem? I’m really excited to find out.
Story: It’s lighthearted, adventurous fun that’s by nature a little inappropriate at times, but it doesn’t detract from the story. Maria’s debauchery adds a whimsical element that somehow compliments the grand undertones of her new life nicely. Despite the fact that Maria is the demon lord’s daughter and should have some OP powers, we watch her train as an adventurer from the bottom up. Interactions with other characters have been fun to read and the author doesn’t hide the fact that Maria is a chest connoisseur. That said, she is also a girl with convictions who doesn’t hesitate to throw herself into danger to help those in need. I think this will be a fun one to follow as it progresses.
Style: As an isekai, I think this story’s execution is solid. It plays on a few common tropes in some unique ways and has a lot of hidden elements that are interesting enough to keep you drawn in. The author’s pacing is steady and fulfilling as we follow Maria on her journey from square one. Descriptions are rich and really bring you into the world.
Grammar: There were some minor grammatical errors and a few awkward sentences, but nothing that made me pause.
Character: Maria is definitely someone that’s fun to read about. She’s a diligent girl with a good heart who’s maybe just a little bit easily distracted. She feels like a real person and her character comes out with each chapter. If I had one - LleayaaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright so my first MAJOR thing I must say is this…
THE TITLE… absolute perfection. Everyone likes some lewd books now and then and this one… hot damn. I’d reccomend this beauty to any horndog.
Personally I think it’s fantastic so I don’t have really any bad things to say about it,
Style
The authors style fits well into the “I’m a master of writing lewd narratives”, as well as a more normal and casual narrative for a litrpg. Specifically I think this one stands out… and not just because Maria has some “nice” encounters… But by the way the author trickles in normal storytelling and I think thats very impressive.
Story
Girl gets yeeted into a land where she loves “big chests” mmm. Whats not to love about that? Though I do like she has a steady progression and isn’t just OP right out of the gate.
Grammar
Very few grammar errors. Nothing to hinder the various “nice” thoughts that the book has as it continues. They’re not really noteworthy but a few commas did seem out of place, but its just a quick trip to grammarly and they can immediately be fixed.
Character
Maria-sama… please step on me. Ahem*
Maria is a very fun MC and I think she’s written well, i’m only at chapter 5 so far but I think her character pacing is nice and steady and her own self-story is nice and refreshing.
Overall
This book is AMAZING, even if you aren’t a lewdness connoisseur I think you’ll be able to enjoy it. Thank you author for having the 3am clarity thought to write this, please take my favourite and follow. - DarkodiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Enter a world where legends have already been forged, and the battle against the Demon King is but a tale of the past. Maria, our enigmatic protagonist, arrives on the scene, uninterested in the conventional pursuits of love and relationships. Instead, her heart yearns for the thrill of discovery, the allure of treasure, and the mystery of the Demon King's hidden riches.
In this captivating narrative, we follow Maria on her quest through the mesmerizing realm of Mytharia. Along the way, she forms unexpected bonds with a diverse group of companions, each with their own secrets and motives. As the story unfolds, Maria delves deep into the realms of debauchery, dungeon exploration, and an intricate leveling system that adds an exhilarating layer to her adventure.
The allure of Mytharia lies not only in its beautifully crafted world but also in the intricacies of Maria's quest. With each page turned, readers will find themselves drawn into a web of intrigue, as Maria seeks elusive clues that could lead her to the fabled Demon King's treasure.
This is a tale that deftly combines elements of fantasy, suspense, and even a hint of the unexpected. Readers will be hooked from the very beginning, as Maria's journey promises to be a rollercoaster of excitement and revelation. Join her on this epic odyssey, where the greatest treasure of all awaits those who dare to venture into Mytharia's enchanting depths.
Amidst the rich tapestry of Mytharia's landscapes and the ever-evolving dynamics of Maria's quest, the story invites readers to lose themselves in a world where nothing is as it seems. The plot unfolds with a masterful blend of suspense and surprise, keeping readers on the edge of their seats as they navigate the twists and turns of Maria's adventure. - Little RacoonRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A fun read, the story delivers on its promise which makes the chapters easy to go through without any hint of fatigue. Although not having the most groundbreaking plot, it's a unique comedic addition to the realm of LitRPGs.
Style: 4.5/5 - Despite its more... 'cultured' writing, the style as a whole is palatable and easy to read, the reader being able to follow with the flow without too many mental gymnastics. So far, there aren't particularly dramatic stakes yet and things are taken in a casual manner, something well reflected through the writing style.
Story: 4/5 - If one is going for seriousness or some restructuring of one's worldview, then unfortunately this story is not for you... unless if one is currently engaging in the clearly world-changing debate of 'what size of chests are ideal'. Instead, the story is rather relaxing, if that is the right word to say, with gradual, steady progression on the way.
Grammar: 5/5 - nothing to say about that. Good stuff.
Character: 4.5/5 - the way the main character Maria is set up is done very well. The world is painted through her humourous perspective, her eyes taking things in with a joke here and there instead of endless monologue. Her gimmick about being absolutely mesmerised with chests is being used in full potential (as for how I leave it for one to read). Perhaps the treasure she seeks lays not in a flat wooden box, but a round, full bosom... ;) - Andrew K.Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5I'll be honest when I first read the title, I thought this piece was playing off the same idea as "Everybody Loves Large Chests". But god, I've never been so wrong.
Style: Simple and enjoyable to read. Clear descriptions, lively dialog, and a bit of fanservice make the story even more pleasurable. I have to say that this piece will please all fans of lewd content, but personally, it just distracts me from the story.
Story: The story is fast-paced. Literally two chapters were enough for the author to give us the plot development and introduce the main character. The narrative moves easily from world problems to the battle in a small village and the heroine's immediate problems.
Grammar: Personally, I didn't find any problems with the grammar. The phrases are constructed grammatically correct. Punctuation is fine as well. I didn't notice any mistakes or typos.
Character: The main character is described perfectly. She definitely has her own recognizable voice in the narration. The other characters are also well-developed.
Overall: This is an enjoyable to read story with an interesting plot development. The main character is sympathetic. She is proactive and has a goal that she is willing to travel for. It sounds really cool.
But at the same time, I'm not a big connoisseur of lewd content, which is why I'm taking off half a star - just not my type of story. For everyone else I think this story will be a pleasant discovery. - TheGreatGazpachoRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Review swap @ Chapter 7
Honestly, better than I expected. The lewdness of this story never felt offputting or disgusting in its approach; I think it hit a relatively respectable balance. I also don't go out of my way to read LitRPG material, so I appreciate how beginner-friendly it feels. Some stories in this particular genre will throw the kitchen sink at you without warning, and that's what a lot of people who seek this material do want — as someone newer to the genre, I appreciate learning about it at the same pace as Maria did.
Style: There were a few instances while going through long dialogue chains where I would lose track of who was speaking, but a quick retracing quickly solved that problem. It's a minor nitpick.
Grammar: I didn't notice anything problematic.
Story / Character: Maria, as a protagonist for an Isekai-type story, is good. You've avoided the trap of the faceless Isekai protagonist with a cardboard personality and motivations as thin as paper; Maria has a defined goal and enough character intrigue with regard to her parentage that makes me curious about how this information will be revealed later. Her interactions with the other characters are fun and show the right amount of personality. I also appreciate how there seems to be more to the other characters than just mere titillation; that's another pitfall of harems. But, even at only chapter 7, I appreciate the beginning parts of character-building you've done for Eardwulf, Silori, Yarina, and Irra. Never lose sight of providing a good story that compliments the lewdness you want to achieve.
Keep going; this is surprisingly good
