On faraway lands where the Chinese culture meets a Korean nuance, a strange Curse befalls Helial. It may ruin his life entirely, or it may not. From a Korean video-game scenario which follows the Immortality genre design of Chinese fantasy novels, in a world outlined by Classical elements as well, nothing compares the call of freedom. While contrastingly different worlds get in touch volume after volume, this brand-new genre explores new horizons that traditional fantasy literature has never reached before.

    up to ch. 51
pretty good novel to read, had a good mix of both genre, and a still evolving story .

Definitely worth reading!  This is a good fiction with a decent amount of character development and plot.  The gamer elements are done decently well with the cultivation world.

The start is quite compelling. The novel begins in medias res, so you're thrown into the litrpg world right away. Skills, levels and stats occurr from the very beginning.
The first narrative arch is mainly about Helial and his little sister Lumia. Things liven up soon enough. As the first adventures unfold, you immediately grow fonder of the main characters.
I would recommend this novel for its enthralling plot. The flashbacks and the humor are the strong points. (Lasagna for president).
The only weakness are the secondary characters in the second narrative arch (as well as Vidio in the first one). It's not like they're not well-written, I just personally didn't appreciate them much. Maybe it's just the main character who outshines them

It’s an interesting mix of philosophy, religion, and fantasy tropes. The arrogance of nearly every single character really gets on my nerves though.

It's an interesting mix of a system. The power is very Dao heavy with cultivation but there is an rpg system layered on top of it. Dungeons/levels/classes/items/etc play a part but seem to matter much less than the cultivation side of things.
What makes or breaks the story is the philosophy side of things. The big forces in the universe are destruction (free will/choice/cant have good without evil) and life (authoritarianism/order/prevention of bad no matter the methods). To rise to power you have to have strong beliefs rather than purely technical skills as you grasp your 'Dao of Mana'. Characters being determined and believing in something makes them stronger mid fight like a shonen manga.
The story is very idealistic and preachy. People go off on monologues about good and evil all the time. There is a ton of hypocrisy in the ideals though. For instance the MC believes people should be free to choose to do bad and the immortals shouldn't stop the orphan gangs in the city from fighting, but he himself will get involved and stop things. He uses his power to force his ideals over others while condemning it when other people do it.
Tied into the hypocrisy is the arrogance. Within a chapter the MC will say he doesn't care about competing with a rival, saying that the rival is free to do what he wants and there isn't a reason to compete, then he immediately picks a fight with a random dude because "he didn’t like it when someone questioned his strength. From his standpoint, only the strong had the authority to ruler over the weak, and the chance to decide whether not to." The MC is constantly proving his own ideals are bullshit.

This needs some serious cleaning, in just 12 chapters I found quite a sum of mistakes, typos and badly used words that have no reason to be there.
and here I am looking at the review, 4-5stars, and no one is mentioning this. I can't be the only one noticing this right????

I enjoy this story, when the story is being told anyway. There isn’t a single scene without 3+ flashbacks, it really just kills it for me. It’s like listening to music that is cutting out every 10 seconds. I understand that the author wants to build up a reason to care about the characters, as well as describe their personalities, but it’s really excessive and mostly just frustrates.

I have no idea why it has so many good reviews. Yes its unique and starts of really good then the author just trashes the mc so much and makes the book  unreadable and depressing to read.

This is pure garbage. Author made a honey trap with level and stat which actually don't mean anything. MC leveled up to 19 at chapter 14 but at chapter 32 he again leveled up to 19. During Chapter 14 his stat Int. =163 , Wis =132 , Dex =115 , But at chpter 39 his stat is Int. =148 , Wis = 125, Dex = 90. Author just writing numbers as he wish. I don't know why people giving it 4 star. Do they have jellyfish memory? They can't remember what was writen 15 chapters ago? Maybe because of people like them chinese author remind us the same thing in every 2 or 3 chapter, how awsome MC is, how perky and big breast his harem members have, How much gap there is between level.
