The overall worldbuilding, plot, and characters all show potential.
However, the execution is a bit lackluster.
Mainly, the author uses capitalized words for emphasis. Though this does help the reader tell what kind of character the MC is, there are better way to do it.
But really, other than that, the world the author shows us is really interesting. The music-based magic system, necromancy, and the dry jokes all make for a very interesting story.
I'll be looking forward to see how it'll improve!

I really like the voice of the story. It's confident, funny, and the characters are quite readable.
Mithlas, is quite the little tyrant, haha.
The world is very folkloric-like, with a sense of rules and logic, but still leaves a feeling of  wonder.
The comedy and grotesque horror keeps evolving with the story (currently on Chapter 6)
What I believe might get slightly polished:
The story sometimes burns tension by lingering on repeated beats, especially the complaining, the travel misery, and the step-by-step logistics of the undead.
Tightening some of those sections would make the big turns hit harder and make Mithlas feel sharper.
Finally, consider clarifying the internal limits of his new power earlier by implication (showing some constraints) rather than explanation, so the reader feels the boundaries through consequences and not through setup, and the stakes stay crisp as the story expands.

    So in chapter 1...
There are too many em dashes. I don't even think its AI. There are so damn many em dashes! Yes 19 of them are too many!
23 hyphens are also too many hyphens!
And good lord did you use a tilde? A tilde? Who uses a tilde? One of the true cryptids of punctuation? I took a blurry photograph of it and my local news paper won't publish it.
There are EIGHT COLONS. Eight! Just in this chapter! That's too many!
    What? NINE, NINE, semicolons?
I don't even care if it's accurate punctuation at that point. Because with those numbers it shouldn't be. If it's not symptomatic of AI it's symptomatic of something. It definitely isn't normal.
It is an extravagance of punctuation. An infestation.
Is someone making you do this? Put three tildes in chapter 3 if someone is making you do this.
THERE ARE THREE TILDES IN CHAPTER 3!
    ...
    4/5 stars.
