Incredible wordsmithing and evocative sensory details. It sets an ethereal mood well, and is easy to visualize the people and setting based on your word choices.
I also strongly liked the characters. They display distinctive personalities, are multi-dimensional, and I love the interaction they have with each other. It's got a natural feel to it. :-)
Room for improvement:
The overuse of hyphens became distracting after a while. Maybe restructure some the sentences to use commas instead?
For me, it was hard to tell which lines are spoken by Lyra and which are spoken by Proxima. Please combine the paragrahs with the character action or emotion and the spoken lines together? It would make it easier for me to read, and I really liked the plot.
Characters, word choices, and plot: 5/5 stars
Grammar (hyphens, who said what) 3/5 stars
Overall: 4.5 / 5 stars - emssitumorangRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Alright, so this story is really well written and the style is clearly distinct from many other stories I've seen before. However, this is also the first AI-assisted story I've ever read on this sight and I'm also not privy as to how far the assistance goes. However, I want to touch on that aspect later because I have a lot more to say about it which is why I'm going to start with the story and characters first.
The story is fairly simple to follow. I have to preface though with minor spoilers that the first several chapters are technically a 'Prologue' of sorts. Now, is the prologue well written? Very much so. In fact, even the characterisation from the prologue manages to give me great feels from the prose (more on that later).
The characters that are written in this story are well fleshed out, even the minor ones that perhaps are only to be seen in small snippets of a few chapters. The world feels alive though (and this applies only to the prologue) I had been led to think that it was sort of nier:automata style empty, but regardless, the setting is great. Though one could get a little bit lost in the technical terms the author throws at you, it isn't bad and there is a clear effort being put for seamless intergration between setting and story.
The grammar to me is immaculate. What some other readers might feel to be a little jarring would fall more into the 'Style' category which we will now get into.
The style of the story is very prosaic. And by that I mean like it reads like Shakespeare (in a Modern way), being very poetic and ultra atmospheric. For the prologue, this works to such Divine levels that the choice of words make you feel something for characters you've only known for like 2 and a half chapters. It's that good. Even made me almost cry at a point at a certain character's fate. However, when it comes to the story proper, it does indeed tend to come off as purple prose, just a tad bit. Perhaps if the author focuses more on clear cut narratives, the p
