Description
Will Wasn't Supposed to be Eaten by a Space Zombie
The goddess responsible for this extra-dimensional mishap promised him a second life in a fantasy world, complete with powers inspired by his favorite computer game, Maincraft. But there's a problem.
Will's new world has a Dark Lord, and his System doesn't come with instructions. He wants to live in peace, and maybe meet a girl, but crafting a slice of life with monsters spawning every night and an evil empire on his doorstep is tough when all you've got are blocks and sticks.
A LitRPG isekai adventure with a splash of gore, a dash of horror, and a hint of romance: this isn't your kid's Maincraft. But hey, at least there's no profanity.Book 1 and 2 of this fiction is STUBBED as of 7/21/2025 to comply with Amazon rules. If you have Kindle Unlimited, you can still read it for free (a much improved, heavily edited version of what I had on here). I know it's annoying, but those are their rules.https://www.royalroad.com/amazon/B0F22HCGKV

- RobertWilderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Really enjoyed the first chapter. Despite the not so subtle chapter title, William's description of his job at Subway played out vividly in my mind's eye making the sudden attack by the tentacled customer very unexpected and surprising. Also, interesting twist on minecraft mechanics. Looking forward to continuing the journey in his new world.
- Kilogram60Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have enjoyed the story so far. I must admit that I have avoided fan fiction stories so far but this was worth the try. Well written with minimal grammar errors. The story has progressed every time I started to loose interest. The characters have not really developed at this stage. Definitely on my read list.
- MelocchioRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Shortstacks.
tldr;
I've seen people isekaied in a subway, but never like this. A ditzy goddess gets our man killed and hides the evidence by isekaiing him to the world where she stashes all her dirty laundry, with Minecraft powers. The world's history is lousy with isekai heroes and there's even a dark lord, named kevin.
It's an interesting visceral take on the crafting/survival genre, with a very idiosyncratic protagonist. We learn as much about him as he learns about his powers in the early chapters.
Also, though we often forget, Minecraft is a horror game.
Also, also, shortstacks. - malinizgeldiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I hope because the novel is moving in that direction. but I hope it doesn't turn into a demon king hunt novel.
To summarize; Going to a lord of the rings-like world with a minecraft-like system. I say similar because they are not the same.
mc is an ex-con, we don't know why. but he wants a nice and comfortable life with his wife. Frankly, I liked his wife, Esmerelda. Did you force yourself? Yes. did she marry mc almost because of her religion? Yes. So is their relationship real? I think yes. Both of them have to make an effort for the relationship between them when they are old and yes they do. IF HE RETURNS TO THE HAREM, MY SCORE WILL LOWER MUCH. Although mc is not after this, he is making sentences that are clearly prone to it.
do i recommend Definitely. Don't decide to leave the novel just for the uninteresting beginning of the novel.
my suggestion; don't really go to the harem. also please improve the relationship between eill and esmelda. be a real couple.I would also like you to go into a little more detail on world building. - NearamirRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's a fun read, though a bit dark in places for my taste, but I have a good feeling about this one. The main character has a good attitude but still reacts realistically to his situation, strange as it is. The crafting system is interesting. It's not exactly like minecraft but that just means there's a sense of discovery when new materials are tested and new blueprints are unlocked.
- Travis HeermannRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just like the subject line says, some great lines, and written in a snappy way. The story really moves along. Definitely going to keep reading to see where it goes.
The references are also amusing, everything from Minecraft to movies and other games. I'm enjoying the main character's voice and discovering his new world along with him. - Winged ThingRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Our story involves a dude getting plonked down in a new world post-death with the powers of... Home-brand Minecraft (Survival mode -EG punch tree, get wood tokens)
I can't say its a perfect story, but the ideas present are interesting, people react in realistic ways, and the dialog, and grammar are all quite good, and I've no complaints there.
Certainly not a perfect story, the plot meanders a bit, but I can soundly say this is in top 3% of RR stories, and I think you'll find something to sink your teeth into here.
Please, give the story a try, it's worth your time! - SmarmiganRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall, I enjoyed the book(s) even though I never got into Minecraft. The characters, worldbuilding, and system are solid and consistent. The writing and grammar are generally very good, although I did find some errors here and there, but I assume that's typical for Royal Road. (This is my first read here.) It took a little while to get into book 3, as is common in many stories dealing with progression of some sort. Eventually, the MC has become powerful, so there's less progression within the system. Once I shifted mental gears and expectations, it was just as good. The completion of the storyline arc was satisfying. There are DEFINITELY things in place to easily allow for more books in the series, and hopefully the books will do well enough to justify them.
- darkrikeRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0—Edit after seeing it has been rewrite. Have not read—
3.5/5 star to 4 star
As long as the style of telling in the novel is fixed or smoothed then this will be a more than acceptable novel with an interesting premise.
Still does not remove the problem of the MC backstory having no purpose, nor that that things will mostly depend on luck and convenient opportunity. But that can be interesting to read about.

The grammar is good
The style can be excused
The story sort of sucks.
Basically.
It is about a guy that is ported to a ordinary medivel world, (despite Gods and magic being real) with the power of mincraft and its problems. Which is interesting, treating an normal world as if it was a sandbox.
The thing is that an dark lord already exist with the exact same powers as the MC, for some reason. Thus the MC powers becomes lame and unimportant, and can be directly compared with the darklords and be deemed insignificant.
Furthermore. The MC forgets his prior identity from Earth, making that also unimportant.
So, it becomes the story of an ported man with no identity with unique powers few would think of when wishing for it. That is facing another man with the exact same story and that exact same unique power just that the other man is more powerful and already rules the world.
Basically, the single ant faces the giant story but the giant is a better version of the ant. Making the ant insignificant.
So. An bad story, could have been good if the dark lord was not the ruler of the world already and if there were others and had different powers which hides the possibility of time travel. But there is not.
The story is totally readable. Which is why I am giving it 3/5 stars. The story is just not motivating or inspiring. Especially since the MC forgets his memories every other chapter. - Sam0207Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Survivor by William Myrl is a story about a man getting isekai'd into an LoTR like world. But, with the powers of Minecraft.
Style:
The style of writing was simple yet engaging. I know kind of a cliche statement. But, it wasn't too complicated and yet was entertaining to read.
The little snag was just that, I would've appreciated little more tidbits of languages, lore of the region, etc.
Story:
The review title expresses my feelings to be honest. I was really stoked by the idea. I have never played Minecraft but have seen enough videos on YouTube to know it's mighty fun.
Plus, it was about crafting! With an overarching plot of an Evil Lord too! I cried out in glee.
The start was promising, and appropriate exploring of his powers was done, which satisfied my tastes. The reader was given time to understand the powers and what could they develop into was fleshing out.
But as it progressed, the situation got increasingly convoluted. It was like being bombarded with side quests and fumbling the main quest, in a bad way.
In short, I would've liked the MC was allowed to be on his own or in the town, using his powers and leveling them up, before being thrust into conflict.
And then the time skips came. Sometimes the chapters got painfully slow, sometimes time leaps were taken. It wasn't best of experience.
Other than that, I liked the action, romance and surprisingly the unexpected...ahem. The lore was interesting too!
Grammar: It was very neat. I have no complaints.
Personal Note:
Hmmm.
I would say I am glad the author hadn't read any isekai stories before. It gave a fresh addition to the genre. The characters were nicely fleshed which pleases me to ends.
What bummed me though, was the "unexpected" treasures. Just took the air out of gradual progress and the gratification of it 😅.
Would've liked if MC had been allowed more time.
(I would say the book cover could be better, but eh 😅🤷🏾♂️.)
Overall a nice story that I would definitely continue to read.
3.9/5.
🙋🏾♂️ 👍🏽.
