- Julian1701Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very nice Story, a different kind of system and occasional world building. I definitely recommend it!
The main characters are well fleshed out and the story flows nicely.
The entire story of book 1 takes place over just a few days, which also means rapid power growth for our heroine.
This review is incomplete as several chapters are being rewitten as of now. - SyvaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story seems very promising. The plot is very interesting and refreshing. Honestly I would judge this novel more like a book than an online novel by how well it's written so far. The characters and scenes seem very organic and easy to follow and emphasize with. The only thing to improve so far is the formatting and very few grammar/spelling mistakes.
It's safe to say I haven't been this hooked for a story in a while. - VallinfordRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Review written at third chapter as there is not much contact yet at this point in time but yet I feel the need to write a short but brief review the author did not leave any obvious mistakes be them I’m grammar or spelling the work is easy to read and flows making a complete storyline delivering the information of the world and the mechanics in a way for others to understand. I personally hope that this author can get the story off the ground and keep going with the good work that he has made so far.
- noah hoffmanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a very good and interesting concept and I look forward to seeing what happens in the rest of the story. The system the author is using is well designed and isn’t to complicated or to simple. The potential upgrades the main character can get are interesting and well chosen and I look forward to seeing what she gets next.
- HappyNomsRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is entertaining.
The author's interest appears to involve both a love for superhero moments and tableaus, and an exploration of a normal person unexpectedly having greatness thrust upon them.
The author does an interesting setup/mechanics choice that took me several chapters to grasp and ponder, which I think I quite like, where the protagonist is unduly special, usually a negative trope, but here it's used to setup a mixture of partly progressing from overcoming enemies - a lite version of litrpg numbers go up style - and partly progression just from surviving long enough for the benefits of her special class to kick in, which repurpose borrows a highly effective death-by-dawn horror genre survival trope, and lifts it out of horror genre to rehouse it in litrpg/superhero genre, with the effect that the protagonist is able to sidestep a lot of the usual thorny genre issues with murderhobos and min-max shenanigans, and instead have breathing space for wrestling with sudden power and greatness and their side effects and problems and entanglements.
This can read like the protagonist is not entirely earning her progress/abilities, but I think that would be a misreadung the author's intent, and I like what she's doing as an author/world-builder with this choice.
A note to new readers that the first couple setup chapters are...fine. It picks up a lot once the couple chapters of set up are out of the way. The grammar, spelling, comma clauses, do also improve as it goes.
On the grammar. Uh, room to improve, but honestly, every story raeders have ever liked, they forgive the grammar and spelling. Every story a reviewer has bones to pick with, the grammar and spelling come in for a roast. Grammar/spelling/clauses do have noticable issues here, but...it's fine. Midway through the author buys two grammar check programs, and is definitely trying, and partly succeeds at improving. The comma (mis)use gets better. (Aside: The author has a real life 1.5 year old, s - Nox_LitRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I write this review at chapter 18.
A great start to a series, an engaging story with plenty of mysteries to explore. The lore as I understand it (without being too spoilery) is that 'a terribly advanced civilisation existed and collapsed but some remnant factions remain" of the Atlantean variety.
The main character, Letta, is well written, and is given enough room to be concrete. And as far as I have read, does not seem to be too protected by plot armor. She is the center of the story though by which I mean the world and conflict will probably revolve around her to a significant degree (Harry Potter style).
My main difficulty with this novel is the grammar as my rating shows. It is not bad enough to completely pull me out of the story, but some typos/errors do stop me and pull me out of the flow.
This is shaping out to be a power fantasy inheriting tropes from late 90s/early 00s teen fantasy (Harry Potter, Percy Jackson) while being more adult with consequences and repercussions.
I will however remind my reader that this review is written early in the story and most of what I postulate on the story and writing style is that a postulate, an extrapolation.
I will be reading more.
