Description

Griffin Thorne's greed always led him to trouble. He hadn't expected it to lead him to another world.

On Earth, he was responsible for the greatest financial heist in history, making only a single mistake in his otherwise legendary career- believing that he'd get away with it.

His old world believed his story to have ended there.

Little did they know, the[Apostle of Greed's]legend was only beginning and this time? He had no intention to make the same mistakes twice.

I am usual not a fan of Cultivation stories, the Chinese naming style always throws me for a loop and I get to the point where i skim read names and lose who the characters are.
So in saying that I still still give this story 5 stars as it has loads of potential. The first 27 chapters aren't really what i would consider fast paced, but there is enough intrigue and action to make it not boring.
I don't see this MC becoming "OP" because of the Tiered growth system popular in cultivation type of novels but its too early to tell. His skill stealing ability is just flat out cool. It's not something you see a lot in books because it makes creating limits on an MC harder & obvious limiters have a negative impact on readers. However i think it's been done well to this point. Giving him the ability's to steal One skill per a category or slot.  Obviously that would have to be expanded upon, but its done well early.
However In my opinion the best part of this story is that the MC doesn't come off as a white knight. He knows to keep his cards to himself. He knows how to be suspicious of other peoples intentions. An MC that will probably commit a sin is more refreshing than the perfect models we are being inundated with in books. Everyone has their vices, seeing it as a part of the story adds depth to the characters.

    The Verdict
Readable if only just. The MC is a somewhat stereotypical greedy boi who dies for his sins, the proceeds to basically do the same thing all over again in the next life, but with magic powers now too. What seems to be an interesting world, but lacks fleshing out, and a revenge plot by a side character that feels like an afterthought to justify how the MC Griffin Thorne gets his foothold in the new world.
    Style
    2 - tolerable
comments: The world building has a decent foundation but lacks meat on the bones, so to speak. The MC is in a world of cultivation and dungeons with unique powers and it feels like we never really learn much about the world at all. If nothing else, the author is consistent in their brevity of description and pacing which lends a certain solidity to the story that others sometimes lack. That said, a solid foundation is only useful if expanded upon, something I feel this story could use.

    2 - readable
comments: We start with the main character doing the big crime and stealing a ton of cryptocurrency, a bit about his life on the run attempting to enjoy his ill gotten gains, then boom, isekai'd. Sure, why not, that introduces us to the MC. A bit of flailing around in the new world, then all of a sudden we're in a cultivation novel, Also fine I guess. Add in a series of wildly improbable speech checks, and the MC is now running around trying to power up while being supported by the only cultivator in the place who wouldn't kill him on the spot (more on that later). Oh and now there's a dungeon too. but one where the MC goes in solo, so he can use his unique "steal the powers power" without being seen. Everything just feels outright forced and even the usual suspension of disbelief that comes with reading an isekai can't quite make up for the leaps the author takes. Ultimately this story could benefit greatly from picking a lane (any lane, isekai, cultivation, skill stealing, dungeon/tower crawl) and
