Description

Teresa is going to kill herself. She's tried a bit of everything in her life, but nothing really seems to stick. She'salrightat a lot of stuff, but she's notgreat. Jobs never last long, her savings account doesn't exist, and she's over it all. Once her affairs are in order, Teresa finds a perfectly nice cliff to throw herself off of.She jumps, but she never hits the ground. The planet has been introduced to the multiverse, where level ups and magic are real. Monsters, spells, skills, magical war crimes, and stats have become a reality. The world has changed, and Teresa has strengthened her resolve with a new lease on life.Teresa is going to try a little bit of everything the multiverse has to offer. Story will be stubbed upon completion of book 3 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------What To Expect:ActionThere are a lot of fights that take place against many monsters you may or may not have seen before.Strategy You can't go into a life or death fight without planning ahead a bit, that would just be suicidal. Slow Burn Progression Leveling up is a grueling process, but hey, at least there's magic now. That sure beats a 9-5.ComedyMy grandma read my backlog and she said it was really funny. Surely she would never lie to me. Are you going to call my grandma a liar?Female MCNope, it's not the dude in a wig issue. She has her own personality along with many of the supporting cast. Speaking of the supporting cast...Awesome Side CharactersI love a good supporting cast for a story. The story may be centered around Teresa, but that's no reason to make the side characters fodder. They will have their own personalities, contribute in combat, and their own goals that may be completely separate from Teresa's.Moral DilemmasIs it better to die a good person, or to live having compromised on your values?Magical ExperimentationMagic is real, and Teresa is a curious person. How does it even work? What can she use it for? There are skills, spells, Mana, and you expect her to not spend a lot of time just messing around with it?No OP/Cheat SkillsNone of that here. If Teresa wants to get stronger, she'll have to fight tooth and nail every step of the way.Numbers Go Up, Brain Makes DopamineThere are stats and levels within this story. Teresa will need to manage her status and consider what is needed before making decisions. It takes a lot of effort, but dang is it satisfying to see the results of her labor.Quests, Adventures, and Goals Who doesn't love a good questline? Maybe a quest will involve fighting for your life, maybe you'll need to go on a journey, or maybe you'll have a goal of your own to follow - System be damned.

Teresa of all trades is about the aforementioned woman who's trying her best to survive, even though she tried killing herself just prior to the Tutorial. Her less than stellar mental health combined with a goal and enough power to survive being reckless leads to a rather fun story. Teresa quickly turns into a rather badass fighter and the glimpses all around to the various other people living through this System apocalypse are also rather neat.Style wise I'd say it's decent, there is a tendency towards self-deprication, theorization about skills and magic as well as running commentary by the MC which is entertaining enough. Feels a tad messy, but I guess that's what her situation is like. The story itself is also decent, at the moment it's rather slow, considering how it's more or less still within the first week of the systems arrival, not counting the tutorial, but we're learning a lot about the system. The tutorial taking as long as it did, doesfeel like a small problem though. Mainly because:Teresa spent pretty much 30 chapters or so alone, which also meant there were no character interactions with other people nor all that many true developments outside of her rising pretty drastically in skill, power and magic. It's not bad, but I feel like it's something that would be more fitting in a straightforward power-fantasy, and this didn't give me the feels of one. Practically it also didn't really advance the story, or made us care about any side-characters. Personally I think some interludes like those after the tutorial might fit into this period more, and would be a way to switch it up. (Though I can't remember if there are any such povs already in that period.)I think this would be the sort of thing that would be edited to contain maybe ten chapters less content than it currently has if it ever got turned into a book by an editor. I think the reason for the bloat is that nearly all combat and days were written out. Not all of it of course, but still a lot. It's far

This is a great read. It's in the style of a text-based video game, which is a new genre to me but I am greatly enjoying it. It picks up on the action quickly and is great at holding my attention chapter after chapter. Each one keeps me coming back for more. The descriptions of the scenes and battles are vivid enough for me to conjure up in my mind's eye as I read, and I also find myself agreeing with a lot of the decisions Teresa makes about "game" mechanics and stats, which almost makes me feel like I'm the one at the helm of the "game" with her.
Overall, I think the story is great. The wider worldbuilding has only been lightly touched upon, but I'm very excited to see where that aspect of the story ends up. As always, I can't wait for the next chapter!

As of writing this there are only 5 chapter out, however so far it is an entertaining and well thought out read, follows a fun genre while still finding new ways to express the story and keep things fresh! Very much looking forwards to seeing how the story progresses. If you are looking for a new story to follow I highly recommend this novel.

At chapter 64, binged it to this point. Very very good, entertaining character and interesting system. Teresa is flawed but driven and entirely relatable. Pretty sure she has ADHD like me lol. And mijo, oy no puedo esperar al momento en que Teresa y Mijo les encuentren. Highly recommend. Other favorites of mine include Metaverse Chronicles, Mage Tank, Jason Asano's story(blanking on the name) etc

Right off the top: Major content warning for suicide. Like, the main character doesn't actually die but it's literally chapter one, and that doesn't just get forgotten either.
On which note: sympathetic and believable portrayal of mental health issues, check! It's far from the most important thing about Teresa, but the story remembers it and treats it with appropriate respect up to the time of this review. (Admittedly, Teresa herself isn't the most, like, with it when it comes to ableism – more on the self-loathing internalized ableism end of the spectrum – but I think I'm comfortable accepting that that's on her and not the story because the story is pretty good about things so far.) In general, the character writing is solid and the characters are delightful – we especially love the banter between the members of the protagonist's party.
Maybe the biggest strength so far, though, is the fight scenes. Teresa and company are repeatedly thrown into fights with new and strange opponents that require them to use their heads to defeat (occasionally literally), and it is a joy to watch. They're not infallible – far, far from it – but they are ingenious. That said, blanket content warning for descriptions violence and injuries – I don't think I would hand this to a preteen, although I prolly wouldn't actively stop a teenager from trying it.
Final standout note: the magic system is nifty! The magic-using characters do a ton of experimentation with it, and they find out lots of quirks and tricks as they do. And there are magic-using scenes just as ingenious as the fight scenes.
In general: recommend! We enjoyed Book 1 and we're enjoying Book 2 so far.
p.s. Shoutout to the cover artist – there are so many stories with extruded extract of plagiarism machine out there, and a big part of why we clicked on this one is it looks like an actual person drew it.

This is an exciting and grounded story. Really great and realistic characters. The choices the characters are realistic. The System is great. Over all I can't wait to see more. Is there a plan for a patreon, because I would love to support the author in any way I can.

From the first pages, Teresa of All Trades by Trevor Tarzan completely captivated me. The story begins with Teresa in one of the worst moments of her life: tired, frustrated, aimless... until an unexpected twist throws her into a world where spells, stats, and quests not only exist, but also define your destiny. What surprised me wasn't just the originality of the universe (a beautifully executed blend of LitRPG and isekai), but also how Teresa finds her place within it. She's not your typical perfect protagonist from the start: she's someone who has tried everything without finding her place, and that's precisely what makes her evolution so rewarding. Watching her combine healing spells with mana-blasting attacks, or drawing on her kickboxing expertise to face enemies as if they were straight out of an RPG, is simply brilliant. The combat scenes have rhythm and strategy, but there's also room for more reflective moments, where Teresa questions what she's doing and what it means to grow up in a world that follows new rules. Plus, the supporting cast of characters has a wealth of personality, and their interactions make the story feel alive and nuanced. If you like stories with action, humor, real character development, and that special touch of fantasy combined with video game mechanics, give Teresa of All Trades a try. It's soulful, it's compelling, and it leaves you wanting to know what's next.

I enjoyed this story thus far and await further installments. It is well crafted with context and plot, believable characters who are likable, enough people being stupid to be realistic, powerful enemies, challenging fights, easy fights, diverse creatures including monsters animals aliens and at least one dickish God. And most importantly president puppers. My only complaint beside running out of bingable chapters is that the mc has a tendency to irk me.

The story is a very competent rendition of Primal Hunter style system apocalypse with the added bonus that the crew is made up of well meaning and competent characters.A very long tutorial follows the system does its thing and levels are gained. The end of the tutorial exposes the lack of depth in the story, the writer not being able to deal with or unwilling to deal with the brutality of the world he has placed his characters in.It is fine for what it is, but it is a fast food replacement for heartier fare.
