System Anomaly [A fantasy litRPG adventure]
Community Rating
Description
The Milky Way is caught unaware by the System, which prepares to integrate it into a whole new fantastical multiverse.
Except one planet is causing problems for the unremarkable galaxy that's stuck in the back end of nowhere.
But it's not really the planet's fault. Everything doesn't start the way it's supposed to. There is an order to these things, tropes to obey, but that's not exactly how it plays out for the planet.
It all comes down to one individual who was just trying to get a good night's sleep for once.
Perhaps a little too optimistic that he hasn't gone completely mad; he eagerly accepts the system. Hoping it will change his miserable life for the better, he jumps right in with everything he has.
Unfortunately for him, everything goes from bad to worse as the system integration process goes completely off track. Stuck in a loop, he gains the attention of a System Authority, and a System Anomaly is born that might just shake the multiverse and the core of the System.
What to expect:- High fantasy with a litRPG (system) veneer.- "Levelling up" based on cultivation.- Skill progression based on understanding, experimentation and training.- Weak to strong gradual progression.- "Complicated," non-monogamous relationships.- Pop culture references and trope acknowledgement.- Closed door romance (No explicit 18+ adult content.)- "Harem adjacent" or "Harem light" story (the romance of the story is secondary to the plot but still a driving force in character development. )

- Bookwyrm9001Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story features a character who is as dense as the average harem isekai protagonist, though that isn’t always a bad thing. This character at least learns what’s going on much better, and doesn’t shoot off toward the other side of the spectrum of being too aware.
This is a good read for those who like a marginally slower-paced novel in the beginning but also like it when the action picks up.
Fair Warning: There is Harem for those who don’t like it, though I believe it’s decently well-written.
It’s also an interesting take on the usually bland system, so you won’t even need to take a grain of salt.
Overall, a pretty good read to take your mind off the mundane reality we live in. - DragonLord52Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0the story starts off a bit slow, but it gets much better after the first chapters establish the main characters.
As the story develops it gets more interesting.
I like the character development through out the the chapters.
Though I got lost in the conclusion of the first volume / story arc. - JohnblackstoneRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I think editing is going to be a big one for your story. I enjoy the story, but the typos are significant. While I normally wouldn't comment too much about it in this case the errors are enough that they break the immersion. The plot has been good enough to mostly carry things despite the quantity of typos, but it is taking away more than you probably realize.
- Anone LionheartRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I feel that even for the sort of story the author is trying to tell. This novel has potential, but nothing ever happens in any of the chapters. Just talking and more talking and more talking. Info dumps are so much, I don't even understand anything. Nothing happens, for like five chapters and he's stuck in one dungeon floor. Just talking. From the start to where I stopped, it's just one info dump after the next. I can't carry on anymore. I get writing a slow paced novel, but this is just ridiculous.
- Kimbrough7Royal Road★★★ 3.0This story could be great but it's 70% lore and 30% story. The author has fallen in love with his lore and just wants to write about it. The system is interesting, the story is decent but most of the book is just explaining the system and how it works. This author wanted to write a great system and backstory for said system and then decided to write a story around it.
If you love world building, this is your book. If you love a coherent story, not so much.
I can't read anymore because I don't love the lore as much as the author. It was fun while it lasted.
