    The piece does work well as it builds the scene and then the action begins. The only real issue I have with the piece is that it keeps this distant third person observer POV while telling the story itself. Doing so makes it hard to get invested in the story. The three characters, Aiken, Birch and Newman are not given much development beyond their roles and it lacks an accessible point for emotional entry into a horror piece.
