One that this particular Pearl is rather intent on solving.(SRL as a story is set in the world of Steven Universe, though with large gaps that the show never elaborated upon filled in with original content.)

Amazing story, one of the best that i have read in a long time. And certainly the best one in the “Steven Universe”universe.
I am absolutely in love with Viridian’s character in the story. Although unfortunately, and with a lot of reluctance, I feel like I have to complain about the direction the author did and still is taking with her character.
At the start I was absolutely Enamoured with her and her character. The pacing, the internal dialog, her outward thoughts and expressions of emotions. It was all absolutely perfect and I would have loved to read a thousand chapters with her like that.
But I feel like a lot of her personality was lost and changed after 16-A came along… Not that there is anything wrong with 16-A or Viridian, but it feels like the story suddenly started to move away from her. And for a while it felt like her as a character was just discarded and left to collect dust.
This is a personal opinion of what I believe and my tastes and wants. But I really do feel like her character was changed too suddenly… Like the author regretted writing her as she was… I just feel like there is a lot of potential in both her character development and story development lost because of the almost sudden switch up of her entire personality and way of being.
Brim is a different issue all together… She seems to be in love with Viridian, but she for some reason also seems to be in love with almost everybody around Viridian as well? I get that she has the right to like whoever she wants, but I don’t think that this is what the author is trying to convey. Maybe the author is accidentally making her overreact and puts too much emotion into her responses to others? Because at the point of reading where I am writing this (which is the chapter after Viridian and Emerald first fused) It feels like her “love” for Viridian is nothing special, because she feels the same way for literally 7 other beings at this point in time…

A really well written Steven Universe story. I enjoyed the detailed approach to gem society and the flaws it very much tries to hide. I particularly enjoyed the anticipation of the ever encroaching fate of some obviously doomed characters. It very much deserves more attention than it currently has and if you are looking for an enjoyable story to read, I thoroughly recommend it. You do not need to be familiar with the source material. 5/5

I’m writing this review because I just read the latest chapter and I want to read more, but since I can’t I've decided to channel my feelings for this story into a review.
It’s expertly written with compelling character, a world that feels real and lived in, and a plot that, though I’ve only seen the first part, I’m ecstatic to see where it will go.
I especially like the way the story has written the main character and their struggles, and how the main character basically has to completely repress any actual emotions and reactions, all at a cost to themselves of course, just to try and survive and feel a semblance of safety. Tomb_Spyder has done an excellent job at creating an incredibly competent and motivated character, yet balanced it out by putting them in a world where anything less would probably see them dead, sooner or later. So compelling and exciting to read!
For those readers who haven’t seen the show it’s based on, I can’t say for certain what it will be like or how confusing it might be, but in my reading through it felt like all the various details and world-building elements were explained quite well without bogging down the story in the slightest.
Definitely a story worth trying out. I was hooked honestly just a few sentences in, and only felt more drawn to it the more I read.

The only thing that sucks is that I have never watched Steven universe before.

I binged this novel the last two weeks and even though i never really watched steven universe ive always been interested in the lore and spoilervideoessays about it. This fanfict just perfectly scratches that itch of what is this society like,what are relationships within it like, what are the worlds and people lile. And explores a couple perspectives,insights and honestly reads like a prequel to - a version of steven universe where he dont ends up as traumatized teenager. Viridian starts out scared and paranoid but turns absurdly competent over the course of the story - though not always in the smartest way. It is extremly funny to see a charakter girlboss to hard and regretting it. Overall extremly well written, dark at times, very whilesome at others - i was well entertained. Looking forwafd to finishing it.

that was impressive i thought that pearl have higher statue than normal gem because they are with the Diamonds but i didn't thought were the other pearls are working or exist and even treated nothing but only entertainments and holding phone call that is bad.
but i really like the story it was my first time a self insert steven universe story
