Description

Olivia has awoken to a strange world. With mere scraps of memories and a warped, unfamiliar body, she must find help to survive. However, a vast criminal syndicate, an urban legend, and more all threaten to snuff her out before she can find her footing. This is the second draft of an older, much longer running serial on my own site. Updates Sunday nights.

for those wondering yes the MC is indeed not-human or other human like races.

Good stuff. No silly RPG mechanics, distinct characters and a compelling plot.
Olivia the MC is generally lovable and watching the giant lump come into her self really pull on the heart strings.
I read the old version of this years ago and if the rewrite holds true to how awesome that was I am going to be very happy.

If you like superhero stories this is a great one. But don't let that deter you if you're ambivalent towards superhero stories, the story is very unique and actually a very good melding of urban fantasy and superheroes. As for actual story basics its an underdog fighting against the man story, which i absolutely love. The world building is very interesting containing an alternate history of the Aztec empire still existing.
This is a rewrite of a (unfinished) story the author wrote a while ago on their WordPress site, and I am really excited to see where it eventually goes. The grammar was very good on the original and it's just as good if not better on the rewrite.
Each character is unique with a distinctive personality that feels genuine. And the actions the characters take is driven by that personality.
The main character is very strong/ has strong powers, but is very insecure and wanting to fit in and have people like her which is absolutely adorable. This contrasts with the fact that society sees her (or her kind) as mindless brutes/ monsters/ dangers to society (kind of like the incredible hulk) and you get a very interesting dichotomy.
Interesting elements: superheroes, magic, modern Aztecs, amnesia, rebel heroes, corrupt/evil government, heroes in hiding,  hero origin story.

Wow! How time flies! I remember reading this novel on a WordPress site (what feels like) years ago, after it popped up on webfictionguide. I really enjoyed it there and I can say any readers on Royal road are in for a wild ride!
Without any spoilers, this was an excellent read even in its unpolished form and I don't think you will be disappointed now.

Ok, so I really like this story, and while it has a few things that I can see putting off readers, overall its an excellent addition to the superhero tagged stories on this sight.
Style: The style and worldbuilding is straight up superhero earth with a slightly alternate history that is there to set the tone as far as I've been able to tell. Its well done (even extremely well done for something on a free site), but its not really standout in a way that makes it unique. The tropes are used well, but not originally in any significant way. 4.5/5
Story: As of chapter 28 we haven't had a ton of story really. We are somewhere between 1/2 and 1/3 of the way through the first major arc, but its been consistent, and I've not noticed any times that it felt particularly bogged down or glossed over. That said, there weren't very many times where I was on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next. There were a couple, but it was more along the lines of a 'O, they went with version c instead of version a or be. Intersting.' sort of reaction. 4/5
Grammar: Nothing to really complain about here. Its been edited to the point where its easily readable, and the only major things I noticed that need fixing are the occasional extraneous/missing words left over from more thorough editing overhauls. That said, I didn't read this story with my editing cap on and blew right past most of the things I saw that could use a fix. They were there just not distracting enough to warrant much or any comment. 4.5/5
Characters: This is where the story really shines, or conversely is going to put off the reader. Not because these characters are bad or anything, but because the characters are for all intents and purposes strangers thrown together by unforseen circumstances. And it shows. They constantly get in eachother’s way and miscommunication. Do not read this if you are going to be put off by anything other than veteran level teamwork. That is not to be found here.
    Another thing that migh
