- Foxbat40Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0The first chapter is a bit confusing as it isn't clear what is going on where. There are lots of character names and several places mentioned.
As best as I can tell it begins on an airship. A fight breaks out between a man who plans to usurp the king and the king's adopted daughter. She fights the man and he stabs and cuts her, eventually throwing her overboard.
And that is where the story truly begins, With Lia falling through the sky an infinite sky where she is saved by a small dragonette with a 4' wingspan who guides her to land in a bushy tree on the side of a cliff.
From there the story just gets better and better. The characters are well thought out and seem alive. They joke and jab at each other as they are different species. This conflict erupts and helps put the plot into motion her world once reduced to just survival opens up to a much wider kingdom wide conflict as she receives news that her attacker has announced himself king and may still be looking to kill her if she is ever found.
I have read to chapter 20 and enjoyed the authors prose, descriptions, songs and banter. The characters and the world really come alive. The story keeps moving and never really bogs down anywhere for too long.
I can't wait for more to be written. - SkiaElafrisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have read the full series for those (four volumes) via ebook on Amazon + the related stories in the same setting.
They are some of my favorite dragon stories.
I am eagerly waiting for some of those *cough* Dragons if Sea and Sky when? *Cough* to get there next installment.
