Description
Fifty years after the Battle of Yavin, the galaxy finds itself in a fragile state of recovery. Scarred by the Yuuzhan Vong War and Darth Caedus’s reign, countless worlds and individuals struggle to rebuild from decades of devastation. Amid the fractured alliances of the reformed New Republic, the Imperial Remnants, and independent coalitions, the Jedi Order stands as a beacon of hope. On Yavin 4, the Jedi Temple serves as a sanctuary for Force-sensitive children, offering them a chance to heal and find purpose. Among the new arrivals is Kael Varo, formerly Kael Valtherion, a boy who abandoned his Imperial noble heritage to embrace the path of the Jedi. Alongside him is Vila Saresh, a twi'lek freed from slavery, haunted by her past but determined to find a brighter future. As these Padawans confront their own traumas, they uncover the lingering echoes of ancient threats: Sith artifacts, Yuuzhan Vong technology, and the ideological scars left by Darth Caedus, still twisting others, even after his death. Guided by the wisdom of Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, the young Jedi must learn that being a Jedi is not merely about mastering the Force but about finding unity and courage in a galaxy still divided. ------Author's notes: Hey-ho people! Welcome to my Star Wars fanfiction, which is told from a first-person point of view. For a bit of background information and what to expect, you must know a few things about me: My first introduction to Star Wars was on VHS, so I am not a newcomer to the setting. I was a child when there was only the trilogy and a teen when the prequels happened. I grew up reading the Expanded Universe and with the stories and exploits of Luke. This story of mine will take place in 50 ABY, right after the Expanded Universe mostly stopped producing stories. Writing it, anything that happened after the Disney acquisition is going to be ignored. This even includes the Mandalorian series because no matter how good the first season was, it was built on a foundation made out of sand. Proof: Book of Boba Fett and the third season. For more information and what I included as background, check out Chapter 0, where I detail the timeline and events I consider canon for this story. Or, just start reading and hopefully enjoy! I'll try my very best to stay true to the original vision of what made Star Wars so captivating. Expect weekly chapters!

- Mister ERoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Corty a true master of fanfiction has done it again. This is one of the best Star Wars stories I have ever read. The thing that makes it unique when compared to other Star Wars fanfic such as Sublight drive or even many of the legends books that this story took clear inspiration from is the smaller stakes. This is not a story about an interstellar war or the fate of the galaxy, as the title suggests this is a story about an age of peace and the constant effort required to maintain it. At this point in the timeline the universe has had enough of war, it is time for the Jedi to do what they were always meant to, act as peacekeepers, knights and explorers not warriors or soldiers.
The only other story I have read from Corty before was Hogwarts: Era of darkness. And while it had some of the best pacing and plot progression of any Harry Potter fanfiction, the prose was not polished to the point of being distracting. There is no similar problem here, the imagery is vivid, the character voices are distinct, and the world is vibrant. This is an amazing story, just read it.
- S.S.CRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Amazing work, I've never seen anyone do a fanfic on this branch of the star wars timeline done so well with the story and characters fleshed out The mc, Kael has a nice backstory too in my opinion. It's honestly a gem, I couldn't recommend it enough in all honesty!
- StrangestQuarkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Generally speaking when talking about SW you usually see stories from the era of the prequels to the end of Return and I generally like that. That being said, a story outside of that era is always nice to see and this one, focusing entirely on Legends content and playing out after even that runs out is unique in many ways.
I like it. Quite frankly seeing a universe where the main characters are done, the galaxy is mostly saved and the Jedi are firmly recovering is nice and this story does it justice. The grammar is good, the characters are distinct and the world building's first steps are there. I can only recommend giving it a try if you are invested in the SW fandom. - TarisRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the rare occurrences, especially among fan fictions - a Star Wars story that aims not to reshape the entire universe and its events, but rather to exist within it. Written with respect for the source, and clearly with a lot of love for the universe we've come to appreciate. If you're a fan, this one is definitely for you.
- cryzsalixRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0To paraphrase a certain purple tyrant, this is perfectly balanced, as everything should be. And as any Star Wars fan knows, there is no light side or dark side, only balance, only the Force, something this story portrays in a way I struggle to put into words. The story is progressive, immersive, intense, and sublime. The characters are deep, unique, and endearing in a way that makes us empathize with them. The friendship, camaraderie, personal growth, and romance are all done in a way I simply can't find fault with. And the Force, the way it's described and explored, the way we see it in all its glory through our protagonists and true masters, this is everything I ever knew I needed. I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but reading this, I couldn't help but fantasize about being a Jedi in a way I haven't since I was a child.
