The story is very interesting in how it is put together. I find it relatively refreshing after reading stories that take 20 chapters to start the story.  Plus it doesn't just spell everything out for the reader in boring info dumps, instead like a good story the reader learns about the world by the story advancing! Very real feel to the situations the protaganist has to face minus magic of course. While they may not be nice or friendly it has a gritty realism to some of the characters.

This story is a mix of modern and classic European fairy tail. But whereas a wandering witch may be a passing character to propel the protagonist forwatd, here we have the story of that wandering witch coming across the strongly fated. Indeed, fate seems to be a strong theme here, though it's unclear whether she is meant to be a fate breaker or fate enforcer. That said, the protagonist's frequent lack of agency does mean the overall story is somewhat underwhelming until something somewhat implausible happens. Indeed, there is a fairly strong set of fairy tale logic which if you try to apply real political or economic or sociological logic to it, the plot quickly stops making sense.
Content warning: while none of it happens on screen, there is A LOT of physical and sexual assault against the protagonist. And while we don't see it, the consequences do appear to be central to the story. It's fairly unnerving, especially when it leads to a pregnancy which she takes to childbirth. There are also themes of sadism by one character as well as an explicitly acknowledged (but offscreen) pedophilic/incestuous relationship.
