Although nothing too groundbreaking, Whispers of the Forgotten has a pretty cool plot and nice imagery to boot. The vocabulary used in non-dialogue is enjoyable and really helps to visualize what's going on.
On the cons side, things get slightly dicey. The pacing/progression of the story is a bit odd at times. There's also grammar, spelling, syntax, and structure errors that were quite frequent and noticeable, at least to me. Lastly, the development of the characters falters a little; it's sometimes difficult to get a grasp on their personalities and motivations. Dialogue can occasionally feel stilted as well.
However, I remain consistent in my belief that what a story is is much harder to figure out than how that story is presented. In other words, making all the puzzle pieces able to fit together is easier than actually assembling them together. So with some time and polish, this story has a lot of potential to evolve into something really great!
