Spade Song isfundamentallya story about life, and contains elements from romance to horror to mystery. While these exist to engage with the other aspects of the story, they are present. Spade Song is also a rather slow burn, and once the first part wraps up to a major edit, if the quality turns you off, try picking it back up later, but if you want action all the time, maybe look somewhere else.

So far this has been fun to read. The world is interesting and the MC is likeable and interesting. She seems like a character that can definitely carry the story. The system for the world blends into it well and seems important to what characters do. Which is refreshing.
I definitely look forward to more of this story.

I really wasn't expecting this. It feels so honest and wholesome. There are some obvious game/system effects but it feels more like an underpinning of reality that something that's gameified. And it feels like a Isekai (which it kind of is in terms of she's gone from her familiar life to this one). Mostly, I just like this. It makes me happy to read and I'm intrigued to see where this story and the world go.

I have no idea why this isn't in the top 5 stories on royal road. The writing is great, the lore is interesting, but the pacing! So nice to read something that takes the time to breathe, lets us experience the characters and their relationships and their emotions. This is one of my favorite web novels, and at this pace, might be a favorite story overall! Litrpg elements are present, but not overbearing.

The story seems to have an interesting premise and the world building seems solid as far as I've read. Spelling, grammar and context however are currently a major issue. I want to enjoy this but the jarring proze breaks my immersion every paragraph or so. Homonyms are constantly being mixed up, things are sometimes referred to using really weird pseudo synonyms and every once in a while there are sentences that seem to be missing the context te be understandable.
The overview states that there will be a major edit sometimes in the future, I'll be checking up on this story and giving it a new try once the edit is complete .

The story starts off good until you see the character art chapter, after that point it go's down hill the MC is not a kobold or "half" in any sense of the word in the art at least and becomes stupid for more "puppy" love for who knows what reason
they started off on a good foot for lovey couple then boom sniffing privets for blood, and stuff just doesn't add up from how tall she is to her attachment of things and people and in one moment she go's from picking someone up in a hug to being getting head pat's when standing it really messes with how you think the character is
another issue is how issues are ignored or glossed over like the people don't care if they starve or have a monster infestation I'm hoping this story gets better later on but it's getting painful to read from here for me
