Description

What does it take to climb out of the trash and into the sky? The very heavens had decreed his death. He should have died in the womb. Or in infancy. Or when his family was murdered. Or when the house burned around him. Or when he woke up in the dump suffering from innumerable diseases and missing fingers. Even the magic ring with a ghostly grandpa trapped inside of it was sabotaged. A reasonable person would roll over and die. Tian isn't that reasonable. And as it happens, neither is Grandpa Jun. In a world where immortality can be cultivated, miracles are things you make for yourself. A broken boy will defy the heavens, and soar. What to expect: -1 chapter a day M-F. Volume 3 is already complete. -2k words per chapter (aprox, some run long) with a longer first chapter. -No Harem -Earned power growth -An MC who isn't a goodie two shoes OR an edge-lord psychopath -A power system based on actual Daoism -Sects, giant monsters, natural treasures, flying swords, spells, talismans, secret arts, and a gentle sprinkling of young masters whose face need rearranging.

I love this story so far. I've only read the first few chapters but I'm completely hooked! The world is brutal and cruel and absolutely unforgiving. The pacing is excellent and the relationship between Grandpa Jun and Tian is heartwarming. I love that the power system will incorporate real religious aspects of Daoism, should be really interesting to see develop. I'm looking forward to digging into this one more!

I agree with the other reviews. This is a totally generic cultivator tale. You've red the plot a hundred times. But the characters are compelling, most of them are compassionate, the pain matters more. That makes it so much better. I totally endorse it as a fun read with interesting people.

Fantastically well put together. Xianxia tropes and excellent dialogue make for a wonderful story progression. The banter feels real and drives a connection to characters that is missing from many other stories.Characters feel like real people dealing with real problems, thoughtful social commentary is dealt with realistically for the circumstances.Progression comes in many forms. Characters developcharacterover time and rise to meet the situation. Power scaling doesn’t feel rushed and the pacing feels appropriate.

Quality cultivation. It’s weird to see a cultivation novel that’s not slop. Most of the good ones don’t get translated because they are partnered so English readers get the shit end of the stick. So far there’s no stupid ass killing for no reason, no stupid developments. We do have a ring grandpa and some awesome senior brothers.

The first time I’m leaving the review, but I simply couldn’t walk past.
The book starts a little on the slower pace (in my liking, I’m a big fan of fast pacing titles), but as it unfolds you grow used to a funny, maybe naive in a way, but very much like me main character and his crazy interesting “grandpa”.
The story has a lot of deep insights regarding the way of Dao, Yin and Yang, that can be applied in our day to day life.
Looking forward to new chapters! Highly recommend

Loved the back and forth pride and humble sway of book. The innocent interplay of rivalry and the slow growth through a world that ultimately hasn't been fair to tian. Enjoyed the style and storyline. As well as learning more about the world and the martial arts style. A great ready to be enjoyed by all look for more soon. Author has great work ethic and pacing of continued releases

The best story I’ve read on royal road that makes you feel as if it’s a real universe, and the author doesn't exists just real events being recorded in words. The concepts like the dao being discussed can be mind boggling and hard to follow at times. Which makes it extra amazing that it’s essentially one person arguing very old concepts with themselves from different angles and view points. I highly suggest you read this if you enjoy cultivation stories. May very well be the rest written one you have ever read.

I don't usually write reviews, but this one has had me hooked since I started.
I anxiously await every new chapter.
It has a beautiful mix of martial and mental struggle.  It delves into battle scenes and then the psychological impacts of those battles.  If you'd like to see what that might look like in addition to your cultivator addiction, give it a try.

Surprisingly heartwarming main character who can be considered a sociopath in the best way possible.  A large scale mystery with an old man in a ring. Hidden stories throughout and a main character whose disability does not just simply becomes healed over. Add in a weapon not sword/saber/spear related and you got yourself something refreshing to read and follow
