Description

Born into a world where men are outnumbered by women five times over, where airships travel the skies and great beasts stalk the seas, William Ashfield has but one desire in life.Freedom.Yet in a feudal society where women rule and men are treated as little more than playing pieces in the great games of noble houses, freedom is a difficult thing to attain.Especially when one desires it for more than just themselves.Fortunately for William, with tensions growing in the Kingdom of Lindholm and the possibility of civil war brewing, opportunities may soon arise for a man born with knowledge of not just another life, but a wealth of technology completely alien to the world he now calls home.

A story with this kind of title has no right to be as good as it is.The characters generally fit into a particular trope but the author does well in giving themflawsthat make them standout from typical Mary Sue characters. My singular gripe is thatallof the women find the MC irresistibly attractive or are lesbian, but this isn't brought up so often that it becomes painfully annoying like most wish-fulfillment stories.

Seriously.. he went and made another great book.. I have enjoyed everything I've read... this author is awesome... well I was going to leave it there but there's a  50 word minimum on reviews.. so I'll add I. That this author along with  k.d. Williams and William d. Arand (+ their assorted pen names) are my absolute favourites... incredible world building.

If you are a woman the books may be in poor taste. If you read the first three chapters and think you are fine, then you are in for a treat. Damn, it went by so fast. I thought I still was halfway through it when I ran out of chapters.

Great start to the book. One of my favorite things in book is a well written main characters, and this book has one. The world is also very interesting, kind of has a similar fill as the anime Last Exile, with the way the airships are described and operate.

Great plot, good plot twisters, good combat scenes, well presented characters, hot sex scenes. Rooting for the dark elf to be the first wife. I liked it so much that I read it all in one go. I thought the description of the ships was good, but the description of the fighters was a little vague. The issue of mitril was also left vague. It's just found, can't it be mined or is it out of stock? I thought it was a shame that the MC was pure human, because that way he will quickly leave the young man phase, who likes milfs. If he was at least half elf he could stay in this phase longer. Now about the character, the other dark elf, whose name I've now forgotten, I bet that a man disguised as a woman, her being a lesbian doesn't justify always being clothed. another thing is the lack of infantry. Yes, air power is very important, but without occupation and all the logistics involved, it's not much use. or is it all the same? There is no division of forces, because even in the Bronze Age there was already a division between navy, army, artillery, cavalry, etc?

Sexy Steampunk Babes  (Ugh)  is downright fun. The matriarchal societies and reversed gender roles are exactly what are offered and delivered by this work. Important enough to note, that the title does not really resemble the offering. This story isn't about the babes, and steampunk is questionable given the amount of magic involved. I enjoy the maturity of the protagonist and the higher quality of diction and words used by the author. Some parts of the story suffer from extensive overuse of the conjunction 'as' to the detriment of the work. Some poignant spelling errors, malapropisms, and such jitter the reading experience.  The juvenile title detracts from the maturity of the work.Overall, though, good darn read. I had fun and can delightfully suggest the work to those interested in the reverse gender roles without excessive smut/porn assaulting the eyes and mind.

The character has a lot of personality.
The things that really stand out for this novel are the ways that the character's past life actually changes his personality and the way that the matriarchy and gender ratio are factored into the story. A lot of times in isekais/reincarnation novels the main characters act the age of their new body for no good reason and it is disgusting. This stroy is different, he is clearly mature in many ways like a proper adult would be. Also back to the point about the gender dynamics, it's pretty well done in the novel, feels natural.

This story features a rarity among protagonists, one willing to make a stand for morals despite the danger. Specifically as stated in the summary William is in a kingdom that practices slavery and refuses to be apart of it.The kingdom is on the brink of Civil War on the issue, and his fiance is the heir to the side that supports slavery, with his knowledge and skills he could have easily just accepted his lot in life, married the slaver and likely won the civil war. Instead he refuses. He makes it clear to everyone that he hates slavery and refuses to have anything to do with it. All his schemes are explicitly about gaining enough power to break his betrothal, win the civil war for the Abolitionists, and end slavery. And he's also willing to risk himself at all stages of the plan.Every other character feels believable, even the villains who's POV we occasionally read. Said POVs are perfectly written to make you incredibly uncomfortable while being completely logical from the racist point of view of said villains.

Man o man is this some good stuff. The thing that sucks is when a new chapter comes out and I have to wait a week for another one. It's pretty fun to see him grow as a writer with his worlds and situations the characters get into.Definitely my favorite of his 3 worldsHighly recommend
