Casualties have dropped to near zero. Deadly monster outbreaks are under control. Society is normalizing.
Why are all these self-evident truths beginning to unravel at the seams?
To understand this, we have to follow the story of William Blackwood, a forgettable college student with weak powers at the prestigious Trinity Academy, who is not from an elite family like the rest of his classmates, who is certainly not important enough to be the cause of these anomalies, but happens to be suspiciously knowledgeable of the situation every time. When dead bodies start to surface again and nobody knows why, William goes searching in the darkest corners of the city, the darkest rooms in the dungeons, with nothing but his phone's flashlight, awakening a humble power---his phone's light itself.
and the very axioms of monster behavior no longer hold, William alone attempts to pierce veil of darkness with logic and his gut senses in search for therealtruth, not the fabricated nonsense the government is telling everyone.Jurassic Park meets survival power fantasy with monsters.

- gnarlytreemanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Its not bad, not as cliche as the reviews make it out to be, and i personslly found it to be an enjoyable read even if the starting game name eden's road changes to royal road later on and is a bit inconsistent.
I don't think the writer should give up, perservere in the face of writers block please i want to see what you are capable of if you do not give up on a project.
I politely request you to continue your other works in the face of adversity. I think i read at the "speedrunning the demon cultivator app".
Never give up, its a sign of weakness. At least write until you can finish with "the end". Books do not need to be endless. - aAakritRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Its a combination or sorts
Very good start I enjoy it slow gradual start nothing to much , the sister and brother poor and in peril seems a bit overused
but I am Very curious to see what the powers/magic is going to be like ,
Really like the examination jig thing to make different game type puzzle solving scenarios - ionarasRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Verry good start I enjoy it slow gradual start nothing to much , the sister and brother poor and in peril seems a bit overused to be but I am Verry courious to see what the powers/magic is going to be like , looking forward to see what's is going to happen .
- millyleuRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Grammar: Perfect. I say this as a software engineer that is obsessive about catching errors. (5/5)
Style: Refreshing. Third person POV, describes scene details and feelings centered on the main character effectively. Does not meander into ill-timed longwinded exposition; world-building is added onto in snippets of game
. Cleverly done, now that I'm thinking in review.
Started at a 5, went down to a 4 after thinking through the character section below and how that was implemented. Besides that if you can handle a typical paper novel the "going on and on" a reviewer said below was exaggerated.
Story:
This is not a cultivation story so far, though there are level elements mentioned that will probably play a larger role after this arc.
As of ch27 this reads as an apocalyptic survival story caused by game elements taking over Earth. Most of the cultivation/LitRPG stories here focus on either escalating wish-fulfillment or on a grittier worldview. This story is firmly in the latter category.
Character:
main
I found this story refreshing because on some level I can relate(?) to the main character. More than I could to Carl's personality in a similar premised story. So if you've read "Dungeon Crawler Carl" before and enjoyed the premise there of apocalypse-via-external-forces-shoving-players-into-survival-game, and enjoyed Carl's maintained sense of humor, banter with his cat, and creative survival spunk...
Try taking Carl, remove the cat and any space for fun, pouring as much desperate beginnings backstory sauce as you would gravy onto mashed potatoes, and thoroughly season with a workaholic's ideal role model? Makes for an interesting dish, at least. I'm guessing this is what made another reviewer below go "blah blah blah bland", without giving any actionable feedback. Bleh to that reviewer (and people who don't bother making feedback actionable, in general!)
The main character was engaging, though backstory implementation was a bit heavy and blunt. I agree with the asses - MxCrossbrandRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I feel that's its fair to acknowledge that I went into this story with certain assumptions based off of the synopsis, and part of my low opinion of this story stems from the story not matching my assumptions. However, I was still left feeling that the story doesn't present itself well enough to justify your time reading it. Everything from the setting to the characters to the conflicts is both incredibly cliche and rushed; its to the degree that if you've read anything similar to this story, then I can almost guarantee you've read something better.
To be clear, I don't mind generic stories; I mind blandly generic stories.
