Description

One slap to cure the sick. One word to cover the world. One step to change a destiny.

Just as life seem to have become a little bit brighter for Sunday, he dies. But that's not the end as death is just another beginning. Waking up and crawling from his grave he finds himself amid other corpses and struggles to survive and grow stronger. Then he's marked by strange gifts and cast away, alone in a world where undead and living war against the corrupted and fallen Divine.

Spells may hide beneath each stone, every step can be fatal, and anyone can be a servant of the wicked. To survive and find his purpose, Sunday would need to master his many talents, learn of the world and what it means to be a mage, and be a step ahead in front of everyone around him.

And may the Divine tremble before him.

Great read. I understand the author recognises their work as a ‘slow burn’ but to me, personally, this pace of storytelling hits just right. It doesn’t feel slow, the effective jokes and itty-bitty teasing lore drops makes sure of that. But it also isn’t too fast, and it’s clear the author is in no rush to go anywhere.
Style: Excellent. You can hear the author’s emotions seeping through the words given the narration and style of descriptions. The little drops of information also help cultivate a very distinct narrative voice.
Story: There is not much to be said yet except for the fact that there is a lot of potential. So far the storytelling has done a very good job of painting a picture of what to expect and leaving hints at what the system governing this world is. I look forward to seeing what develops!
Grammar: Spot on. I think I have only caught one tiny minuscule error that really is entirely negligible in the grand scheme of things.
Characters: Well-written and fun. The MC and his magnetic, intriguing personality pair very well with this foreign strange world and I look forward to seeing how his personality meshes with those of future characters.
Overall: Definite recommendation. If you’re on the fence, I would advise hopping off of it because there is really little to regret when it comes to reading this story. Have a good one!

Scourge of Chaos is a beautiful thing. The setting is fresh and well-realized - a fantasy setting where the gods have become alien horrors, spells are collected like Pokemon, and undeath is a common fixture of daily life. The main character is an endearing git, and the prose is smooth and polished. It was absolutely heartbreaking for me to see the 'INACTIVE' notifier after I'd finished the available run.
I dearly hope that the author makes a return; if he does, then I've got at least $20 sitting in my pocket for his Ko-Fi.

I'll start off by stating that I think this story is going to really go places. The world that Sunday inhabits(yes the main character's name is Sunday) I am able to tell, even at this early point, is rich and full of character. If you are the fence about reading this story, I highly suggest that you go ahead and give it a try.
Style: I believe that this is likely the strongest aspect of the story. The way in which the writer describes scenes is both vivid and imaginative. There is also a significant amount of time dedicated to interesting asides and thoughts from the heavens that allows for the tonality of the piece to really come into concept.
Grammar: There really isn't much for me to say here. The grammar read as being impeccable, there wasn't anything that I really noticed as being out of place, and I am willing to give a full five stars to this component of the rating–something that I do not do often. Clearly, the writer knows what they are doing when it comes to language.
Story: This is a rebirth and power gaining kind of fantasy. If you are into seeing someone start from literally nothing and head towards overwhelming power, then I think that this is the right story for you. There is a clear emphasis on harsher elements than a simple power trip, and I think that the writer's inclusion of these themes shows a strong foundation for the story going forward.
Character: Sunday really is the only character that we as an audience get to spend a significant amount of time with so far. I do not think that this is a bad thing. On the contrary, it is a clear tell that there is a lot of strength to our protagonist's character and by spending so much time in his head and observing his interactions, we come to know him rather quickly and can root for him.
Overall, I would highly recommend people to pick up this work. Great job!

After reading this novel i came to realize that with dark and gore you can add humour and it is not forced. I really like the world building and MC character and way he is potrayed. I didn't found anything negative apart from very few chapters to read.
Ps: It was a great read and i will recommend everyone to give it a go... Till now World and power system is not fully defined and MC is just roaming here and there, but i believe some more info dump to the world will be good touch so reader can be more connected with the story

This is one of the best new stories I have read on RR recently. LifeWisher is a seriously talented writer, and the work that has gone into this new fiction really shows.
It is bold in its scope, has deep lore and a cohesive written tone, and just plain kicks ass from scene to scene. Damn, but this is so enjoyable!
It's such a great feeling to start a fiction and see the marks of quality that tell you you're about to have a great time, and that is what Scourge of Chaos: Savage Healer has from chapter one and delivers over and over again without missing a beat.
The writing is technically perfect. More than that, there are so many quotable lines, and bits of prose you want to save for later so you can read them again. I think it's the mark of a writer at the top of their game who seems so comfortable in their style, and it's seriously impressive to read. If you go through the comments in the chapters they are just full of people clipping and praising bits of the prose, and LifeWisher deserves every single bit of that praise. I'm still thinking about the description of a graveyard tree with leaves that "glistened dark green and pointed like tiny accusing fingers". Every sentence creates the tone so perfectly.
The story has a fantastically cool tone. In the first couple of chapters it reminded me a little bit of the Gentleman Bastard series. Our MC is a very smooth and criminally aware type, with a healthy dash of cynicism and a way of looking at the world in terms of opportunities and threats which makes every scene feel dramatic and brimming with potential for action.
But at a certain point the tone started to remind me more of Dark Souls or Bloodborne. That transition was so well handled, and I won't go into it too much to avoid spoilers, but the atmospheric quality of the writing is *chef's kiss*. I can't wait for where the story goes next, because it's quite a journey.
    I'm blown away.
Sunday is a great MC, and very entertaining to follow. I'm fascinated by the lore

    Short review: Author is cooking.
Longer: I wanted to write sooner but I honestly don't know what to write. I like the Fool's Freedome but this one truly is a gem. I am basically speachless.
The "system" is exceptional, it's operation is pretty unique and I really like what it "said" so far. Very good writing there.
The world is obviously dark but I can't say much more about it yet. Place descriptions were also well written so high quality is expected from the world building.
Sunday is very likeable. He is inteligent and humorous. (Subtle jokes and worldplay are well timed.) He is cynical but not overly so. If I have to compare him to an other character I would say RDJ's Sherlock fits my image of him with less self destruction.
The pace and writing is impeccable. The power system is cultivation like as author said so expect something like that. I like the idea of these "Spells", I can't wait to learn more about them.
I can't really say more, it is just good. Good to read, well written, good characters so far. Good humor. It is one of the best dark fantasy stories I have read. I can only recommand it.

You read that right! Sunday is in fact more than just my favorite day of the week now, he's also my favorite fictional character!!
The journey embarked upon with the first chapter of this enchanting tale is nothing short of captivating. From the endearing Old Rud to our cute lil' pearl, each character is masterfully crafted, breathing life into the narrative with an irresistible charm.
With each chapter, the author's prose paints vivid imagery, allowing readers to immerse themselves effortlessly in every scene. And oh, the finale of that initial chapter! Prepare yourself for tears of mirth, for it culminates in a crescendo of laughter that is simply infectious. Kind of unexpected as well (Not spoiling it for you haha, go read it for yourself!)
But what truly sets this narrative apart is its wit and humor. The author's comedic timing is impeccable, sprinkling each chapter with moments of levity that leave readers chuckling in delight.
As the plot unfolds, we are thrust into an intermediate realm of mystery and intrigue, where the pace quickens and the stakes soar as our now dead MC tries to regain his life. Yet amidst the whirlwind of action, the heart of the story beats steadily, with many moments of detail that I theorize are going to be foreshadowing for the later plots.(Especially the murals and the guy pointing away)
Finally we enter the world where the actual story takes place, yet the stakes are raised yet again as a hunter is now chasing our hero to take the life he just regained.
And then there's our protagonist, Sunday, a character whose comical musings and unflappable demeanor never fail to entertain. From one fantastical world to the next, his journey is a rollercoaster ride of hilarity and adventure. Who else but Sunday would ponder the intoxicating effects of alcohol on the undead?
Now, let us delve into the review:
    Story:
Intriguing doesn't quite capture the essence of this narrative; it's a tantalizing tapestry of plot twists and turns that leaves rea

This story hits it out of the park in so many ways. Sunday is a great example of a morally grey character. He's likable from the start, and his decisions are understandable even when they are morally questionable. I love books about undead characters, so I knew this would be right up my alley from the start.
The style is perfect for the tone of the story. It feels like I can hear the system's voice in my head, and both dialogue and action scenes flow smoothly. The descriptions are clear and evocative. It's easy to imagine the setting and see what Sunday is seeing.
The grammar is also great. There are no major or jarring errors. It's clear that the writer is experienced and proofreads their work. No complaints here!
The story so far is excellent. The concepts are interesting and more unique than a lot of the stories on here, and the pacing is on point. At no point have I felt like things are moving too fast, but I also never feel like the story is dragging. I get the feeling that the lore of this world goes deep, and I can hardly wait to learn more.
The character section is where this story really shines, imo. With most isekais, I often feel like the first chapter is a bit of a drag until the character dies or stumbles to another world, but Scourge of Chaos grabbed me from the start. Sunday is just so engaging. He is the epitome of the lovable rogue, and his characterization is consistent throughout. I haven't met very many other characters yet, but the ones I have stood out and were also engaging, though not at the same level as Sunday.
This has been a high quality and entertaining story so far, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes isekai fantasy or LitRPG.

Main story takes place in a medieval setting, with a few unique peculiarities which is bound to drive the story forward in an interesting manner.
All sorts of living and undead live together in relative harmony (at least in the larger cities), with regional differences. Their natural inclinations and habitats create a diverse and compelling story.
His first (and intermediary) life is brought up in a non-intrusive way every chapter, to understand where he comes from and the specificity of his boons. This I like, because there’s many a story where their life before truck-kun hits them is simply an easy way out of making a good character. Boom, dead. Here, have some OP spells and a generic modern idea of murder and sanitation. In Scourge Of Chaos, you get a real feeling of how the mc was in his previous life, and how it affects his choices and thoughts moving forward.
I considered dropping it after chapter 1 because I’m not in tune with how the mc was portrayed before the isekai’ing happened, but it was necessary to the story going forward, and I’m glad I kept reading.

Fun premise, more "mystery" focused take on the "god like things send system messages and powers" trope.
Intro (first 6-8 chapters) is a bit of a rough read stylistically, especially the aforementioned system messages are a bit too jumbled together without room to breathe.
Not as dark as I feared (yet), handling the hopeful but cunning misfit relatively close to my personal taste so far.
Edit: It's pretty good right until it starts to suffer from post-nut-lack-of-clarity syndrome. I've read a quite confusing amount of stories that have significant downgrades to story telling quality as soon as the MC did the deed, and it's not limited to male MCs either.  Even in actual romance novels there's no need to keep a detailed account of every time they do it, nor a reason why the reader should have to read more instead of less horny thoughts after they stopped being maidenless. I want to make clear that I don't dislike having those scenes - in fact I vastly prefer a relationship that gets to the point reasonably fast over a romance plot that ends with a cut away before the first kiss is fully canon - it's about the general downgrade in how serious the story takes itself that seems to accompany it quite often in my recent reads.
