A really tightly told start to an isekai story. I appreciate that we don’t dive right into the r character being inexplicably in a world with powers or mystery that they suddenly just understand and participate it. The slow build allows for much more relatability and payoffs with deep character building.
The grammar in the story is excellent and the character is well developed so far. We learn about the character through their thoughts and actions without being just told things about their personality which is a mark of strong writing.
In terms of story, the prologue chapter nicely establishes an inciting event and the plot advances in a succinct and entertaining (albeit sad) way, moving the story forward.The following chapters help establish mystery and intrigue and bring the magical charm along with them. I am excited to see how Nezani continues to learn about and explore Katria and there is a lot of great potential.
My only suggestions for improvement would to slightly adjust the style and formatting of the text in places. The short snappy dialogue and descriptions result in a lot of paragraphs which are currently double spaced, resulting in longer and sort of unwieldy text. The short snappy descriptions can also mute the grandeur of describing some of the cool scenery and setting the author has created. Most of this could be fixed by eliminating the double spaces between paragraphs!
