Rob's Unheroic Misadventures [Multiple Worlds Progression]

Description
Short synopsis: This is a story about an ordinary soldier, who has to navigate through multiple messed-up worlds. This is about his struggles to survive without cheats, lucky encounters, or godly mentors to teach him martial arts in a week. No pets, no legendary weapons, no powerful parents, and nothing apart from his own desire to live. He isn't special, but he will grow strong, both in character and power, mostly through his own effort, defying the odds in the process. Perhaps even to OP level. However, it won't make his life any easier, thus misadventures.
The previous long version of the synopsis is in chapter one notes.
What to expect:
- It's NOT a COMEDY, not a light-hearted story, but more like a dark type with deaths, violence, and a pinch of humor
- The world doesn’t revolve around the MC. The events are not caused by his mere existence
- The start is deliberately slow and standard, but the pace of the plot increases before being in constant motion. No fillers, no dragging
- Twists, some cliffhangers, and my desire to surprise the reader
- Overall, it is an action-packed story with a focus onMC,but not the world itself or any heavy lore-building
- No harem, very-very limited romance.
- Limited LitRPG elements
- English is my third language, so mistakes / mistypes are there, but I do edit everything from time to time
P.S.Cover is made by my wife, who isa children’s illustrator, thereforethecolorful picture.

Personal Thoughts
Its a good story that got better when the author improved their writing. Honestly I haven't read far enough to see any major plot holes or any other red flags. It's looking good and I am terribly excited I have this book to read after I'm finished my current novel
P.S This review got heavily edited after all the points in 'The Bad' portion were irrelevant. - DelgarionRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Having read a lot of Progression Fantasies I can confidently say this is one of the best ones I have read.
Its a bit more serious and dark but not frustratingly so. There is not a huge Focus on romance which I think is good, because often it is done poorly.
The ending Was satisfying albeit maybe a Tiny bit too short. - Ima SpiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Favoured, I will vait until the (book) chapter is written.
mahaha.
It is better that i pretend you are a vampire or are a non native English speaker, because the you used the word cunny instead of cunning in the early medieval life...
5* language mistake.
>insert picture of count chocula
>or the muppet vampire
Its only got worse since, its starting to read like it was written by a Chinese guy, or like me when i'm drunk.
like now.
Honest score 8/10 I like the gritty parts.
5* in royal road because anything less will force the author to commit sudoku due to biased rating systems. - TheFirstWaywardDreamRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I got hooked on this book by the simple fact that Robert gets no breaks, it was enjoyably novel to read about Rob's endless and futile fight against the systems that imprisoned him.
I enjoyed the realm hopping style of the book, how the world brutally crushes him down without any magical MC problem solving bulshit.
The story was interesting ( to me anyway ) and I was kept interested with every new chapter. I often put aside what I was doing to read a new chapter and comment my thanks.
Robert's character is what kept me invested he starts off generic (weak and "driven") but as he was insesently denied his fairy tale ending. he is shown (not told) to be enduring.
He he haha words
The grammar was understandable with the rare error that is swiftly reported and corrected.
Overall it was a lovely book

is it 50 words yet, its not, blah blah, i like u author, keep up ur work, its sad that u have only 1 fiction, i was hoping to read more. - SherpADerpRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Not a huge fan of the formulaic advanced review structure, but a big fan of the story!
Do you like Isekai? It's okay to say yes, shits everywhere for a reason. But are you burned out on OP protags? On weak but tenacious/cunning protags? Sick of subverted Isekai tropes where they just flipped the script? A dozen backlogged "Oh but hes actually evil but just comes off as practical"? Morally gray morasses dragging you down? The genre has been done to death.
But here is one of those gems where yeah it's all been done but here it's been done well. If you can't do something new then just do what's been done but better.
The story is your basic Isekai with a protag that just won't (completely) die. Take the Unheroic title seriously as well. The Protag isn't just some one note "flawed" character but someone who frequently fails. Like outright fail and have to carry on with that failure. Sometimes the slow burn can drag but overall it's how Rob handles the small challenges and victories and failures amongst the bigger ones that really sucks you in. It's like an incredibly violent progressive SoL or in less buzzwords someone behaving realistically in unrealistic situations. Chefs fucking kiss.
Grammer seems alright, nothing egregious jumps out at me thinking it over.
The characters are simultaneously the strongest part and, I hesitate to say the weakest but when it's good it's so good that the mid parts kind of pop out at you when they do occasionally happen. Once in a while it seems like a character will be rather one dimensional or situationally stupid to make the narrative work but that's pretty rare. If you read cultivator novels it's kind of like the young master situation where a dude exists just to justify someone getting their face slapped. But that's rare, for the most part minor characters are fleshed out and written with unique and complex perspectives and motivations that relate reasonably to their actions. The Protag develops and shows actual character growth alon - DrspethRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0All in all I have enjoyed the story. The premise is good and the MC has a pretty good mentality to work within the limits of the story.
This is a work by an amateur author. There is a lot of good ideas in the story, though there is also room for improvement. I try to rate mostly based on my enjoyment rather than spelling or grammar. That said, Author, you could use an extra proof read of your chapters. Most spelling mistakes can be figured out so it's not a big deal, but if you are looking for a more professional look then I recommend taking the extra half hour to make sure everything is good. Your dialogue is overall ok and combat descriptions did improve over time. You're doing well but still have room to improve.
For other readers, I give this a four out of five because it is a good read. The story is engaging and the struggle can be relatable. Parts of the dialogue could use work and the combat could use a touch up, but overall this author wrote a story that I spent hours reading, hungry for the next chapter. This is the type of writing I love to see, because it showcases someone who is passionate about their craft and just needs experience to bring out the best.
Ps, wouldn't hurt to show what Robert's requirements are to leave current world - IgorABRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I go to sleep right after the new chapters come out and never miss it, thats how much i like it. Now for my only critics; Robert gets almost no breaks, there are very few times when things go right for him and in those cases its always with a side effect, this leaves the reader tired and disensitized making the next bad events less impactful.
- dontknowwhattodoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I like the story so far. The pacing is great, and the story draws you in. There are some grammatical errors every now and then, followed by mistypes, but those can be easily ignored. Also, the character feels alive, unlike in other works where the character is just unrealistic and there to satiate the writer's power fantasies.
