Reigna The Larkspur: The Immortal Bard's Endless Lament
Community Rating
Description
Reigna's (Ray-Naa) life has not gone in the direction she'd hoped for. Celebrated at her Bardic Academy for interesting and innovative ideas, there were high hopes for her among some of the staff, however the skills she cultivated did not translate well to the typical tavern and pub crowd that bards usually perform in. She's been out of school for 2 years, can't find consistent work in her field, has lost contact with many of her friends, and she's just trying to make do with what she can.
A fantasy, dark comedy about a bard confronting depression, creative burn-out, the expectations of being a "gifted kid", and some family drama, with a neat little mystery thrown in for good measure. This story isn't about saving the world, it's more about letting the world save you and learning to love your own life again. Equal parts cozy story, fantasy adventure with some coming of age elements.
Still a work in progress but I will update as often as possible. Just looking to get some more eyes on it and get some feedback.
there some content warning that are in place for future chapters
Updates weekly on Mondays :D

- MoaZedonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0In short: the book excels in everything, I highly recommend and I am a little jealous of this crazy talented author.
I was looking at the third page of search results for some pretty random terms and was supprised to see this story as the only one not on hiatus and with zero star, presumably from never being rated. Hopefully my review can help bring in a few more people to this hidden gem.
Style:
Reading the chapters that have been posted so far, I was surprised by the fact that despite the unremarkable length, they felt much longer. The author manages to make every word convey some unique detail or aspect to the story, while not feeling too dense or even slightly 'info dump-y'. I normally have pretty good retention, but this writing feels like I could read it five times and still notice new details each time. That being said, you don't get bogged in detail unless you look for it and everything important is nonetheless hard to miss. 5/5
Story:
Not much to say here, hard to tell too much from so few chapters, but what we have shows promise, and the prologue proves that it is well considered at the very least. 5/5 because I expect great things and anything less would hurt the story and author.
Grammar:
I noticed no technical errors, although I often miss them when reading something this good. Additionally, there were no places with awkward cadence or phrasing, bar one. The first made up word I encountered was the placename of Rsha, which seems completely and utterly unpronounceable. Maybe I'm missing something here? Weird placename aside the grammar is surely better than this review and with fewer typos to boot, so easy 5/5 there.
Character:
So far there have been a grand total of 14 (I think) actual characters, of which one was mysterious and five were insane, so I don't have too much to go off of, but I have nothing but praises for the ones who made it as far as actually conversing. I believe this is because of the first chapters naturally focusing on the MC and her
