This is an absolutely captivating story that has captured my heart in every possible way. Each character is meticulously crafted, drawing me into their lives and making me feel deeply connected to their journeys. The settings are vividly described, allowing me to envision each place as though I were experiencing it firsthand. From the very first page to the thrilling conclusion, I found myself eagerly anticipating what would unfold next, fixated on the twists and turns of the plot. I was particularly intrigued by Alistair’s character—his evolution throughout the narrative, the challenges he faced, and the profound moments of growth he experienced kept me on the edge of my seat. The seamless flow of the story was nothing short of remarkable, as it explored the intricacies of struggle and transformation, leaving me amazed and wanting more with every chapter.

Really enjoying this series as the premise and world building is just done so well. Like to see more action skills from Ghost but this should turn up and reckon it be extra special. Although new to Royal road Cooper does really well and has loads of titles out on the Amazon platform to go through and be really interesting to see where we all end up for this series.

Well written... which is more than I can say for this review which I will indubitably be awful as it was written on my phone just before one in the morn.
However! To the story. Hell I'm only six chapters in but I've been struggling to find something to captivate me lately. I try to give everything three chapters before I melt away like candyfloss in warm water, but this story... by gum it's got me! I'm in and I'm ready.
I love the way the possession has been done and I'm feeling the contrasting emotions of the two protagonists...
Hunger and desire a heady combo that I can dig. Revenge is a dish best served with panache and a smile😃
I reckon The Mc with the actual body is gonna end up a bad mofo on his own account. At least that's wha I hope. Wishy washy head bobbing MCs are not exactly my bag and Ghost definitely is not that.
I Loved the slime addition too. I just know it's gonna be epic OP with some beastly skills. Just don't know how yet. Or is that too much to hope? Either way, I'm gonna find out. Will update soon!

While it's a bit early to comment much about the plot, the idea of an academy student and an assassin being bonded together is a very intriguing prospect, and already the difference in their personality are working well. The story starts off at a good ace and gets going without too much preamble. The characters pop right the off the page and the banter and interactions between Alistair and Juno and Alistair and Ghost are already making for a fun read, add to that professor Humbolt's jaded sarcasm already making me laugh and I think we're in for some good times. Absolutely no issues with grammar act and clearly written by a professional. Definitely one to follow.

Has alot of interesting ideas that leave me wanting more. The "System" in question is integrated with the world and characters in a more down to earth way. The dynamic between the two main characters is enjoyable with dark undertones. I've read alot of stories where anything that shows up as magical the characters treat it as something they cant possibly comprehend even though they live in a world where magic is prevalent, so its nice to see magic treated as another part of the world.

    I'm enjoying this work.
You've got the assassin doing a lot of physical work, being very adult. You've got the mage being young, inexperienced and in over their head. These two perspectives play off each other nicely and provide a nice amount of banter to keep things interesting while still providing a clear single protagonist point of view.
There's a clear narrative path for the characters. This is leading to bigger things overall but still keeps things grounded for the reader.
Well worth the time to read.

I highly recommend! I am enjoying the world and system building which should give lots of opportunities for adventures and character development. It is primarily a deck play system with main character starting with nothing as a scholarship student at an ‘experiential’ school. Lessons are painful but luckily he has been possessed by a dead assassin who probably has his best interests at heart. Guess we will see!

Absolutely killer new story, with a very clever premise. Once you start reading, it is hard to stop! I love the characters and character development. Juno is hilarious and it is really cool that he's from a major house but isn't rude or stuck up. Laertes has the makings for an excellent villain. He certainly sounds like a stuck up asshole. I hope he gets what is coming to him! The idea of the assassin being reborn into someone else who's already alive is exciting and fun! I can't wait to see what happens with that. Is Alastair still going to be in control? Will Ghost take over? Are they going to have to share? How will that work, Alastair sharing his body with an assassin who is bearing a grudge? There is so much potential to this book! I like that they collect summons as cards in a Pokémonesque sort of way, but this is even better! The writing is clean and easy to follow. I can tell it's had excellent editing to check for mistakes and inconsistencies. I couldn't find a single error, which is so important. It's so much easier to become immersed in a book if it isn't full of mistakes. I need more by this author, and I need more more more Reborn Assassin!

The opening pulls you in.  It has plots and revenge.  The whole thing is well written and I can't wait to see where this goes.  I expect there will be some epic card battling.  Maybe they will believe in the heart of the cards as well.  Can't go wrong with a book on magic and assassin's

I don't read many deckbuilders (def not past first/second chapters) so I have little to compare... but this story gripped me and strikes me as phenomenal in its genre. I like the dynamics with the MCs and how the progression in strength is done seamlessly within the story, pacing-wise. The writing is good with strong focus on maintaining flow and strong action.
