Description

Ripped from a dead-end life and plunged into a world where danger lurks behind every smile, Xiulan must learn to thrive in a realm ruled by ruthless ambition and deadly secrets.

When Li Mei dies in a traffic accident after another soul-crushing retail shift, she awakens in a familiar yet dangerous world—inside her favorite game,Phoenix Kingdom Chronicles. Now inhabiting the body of Lin Xiulan, the scorned second daughter of a noble family, she finds herself thrust into a nest of vipers where her very existence is an offense to those around her.

Armed only with her knowledge of the game and the wounds from a lifetime of dealing with entitled customers, Xiulan refuses to play the role of the family’s punching bag. Determined to rise above, she’ll need to master immortal alchemy, tame arcane spirit beasts, perfect her martial arts, and face off against her scheming sisters and stepmother.

But in Arinthia, a land where power reigns supreme and the weak are swept aside, Xiulan must do more than just survive and fade into the background.

With the knowledge of a devastating future that awaits the realm’s beloved Crown Princess, she’ll need every ounce of her modern wit and growing abilities to prevent a catastrophe that would ruin the entire realm—assuming she can survive her own family long enough to do anything about it.

Only by transforming herself into a force of reckoning can Xiulan hope to protect those she comes to care about—and survive the darkness that awaits.

I seldom write reviews, only when the author has created a plausible world, engaging characters, and a clear theme that drives the story forward.
This is one of those times.
This is a fun story and I heartily recommend it. It starts fast, The decisions that are created by the protagonist are reasonable in the circumstances, and while they lead to issues that are not foreseen the main character could reasonably not see them comming.

The Xianxia genre is overly saturated with bad writing where it concerns characters and world building. So far I'm impressed with this author's take on the genre.
The characters act, talk, and behave like actual people. Often xianxia stories are so full of the most delusionally corrupt people that it becomes cartoonish and unbelievable. I was initially worried that this story would follow that same over exaggerated theme, but I'm pleasantly surprised. There are some incredibly sinister people and actions, but it isn't so all encompassing as to dispell my disbelief.
I enjoy how each character seems to be following an understandable motivation that doesn't seem contrived or idealised. Even the antagonists' motivations make some kind of sense and aren't just evil for evil's sake.
On another note, the world's setting is based in a video game that the MC played in her previous life. This is usually done to explain away the protagonist's special advanced knowledge, but the author seems to have put a lot of thought in how that game actually functioned mechanically and story wise. The game  reminds me some what of Kenshi but with more RPG elements. It makes me excited to know more about how the story plays out with the MC's foreknowledge.
The story is still in the early stages, so there is plenty of time for everything to be fleshed out, and so far I like what I'm reading.

A fun, light read with interesting characters that you'll care about before the end of the 3rd chapter. It's easy to get invested in this story, even at the start.
The focus of this story is more on politics, interaction between characters, and drama than it is on cultivation. This might more properly be termed a "cultivation opera" in the same sense the Schlockmercenary is a "space opera."
Yes, there's fights and cultivators etc. but that's not really what the story is all about. It's about a lovable team of social misfits stumbling their way through to success and failure in a cultivation setting.
This story starts out as expected, with a real-world(ish) character being killed. This is done quickly and with a bare minimum of background, so we get to the meat almost immediately.
The setup is quickly introduced, with the less-favored MC almost instantly in an altercation with her more-favored sisters. Side characters (including the sisters) are begging for more development, as this review is done at chapter 7. There's excellent promise showing in the side character with the most screen time so far though!
Angst, culture shock, and other transmigration issues are addressed well. The MC seems to focus on her survival over the next few years, but no murder-hobos here, especially given that this ISN'T a litrpg.
In the style is first person, completely from the MC's prespective, without confusing viewpoint shifts.
The grammar and spelling is perfect. Common mistakes (than/then etc) are missing, and even some more complicated stuff is done well. Word choice is on the simpler side, and should be appropriate for a younger or less well read audience.
All in all, an easily read story with what promises to be interesting characters. I'm looking forward to exploring the world and interacting with the various people there.

    I cant stop reading.
I first started the storry because I wanted a female lead, I have recently read a lot of ones whith male leads and they are great but bring a diffrent perspektive and are sometimes hard to relate. Not this one, the main charakter is verry well written and a strong women.  She has her priorities strait and is incisive( dosent let opertunitys slip by) .
That sometimes leads to fast pacing and recless behavior but that works well whith the storry and she actually feels the consequenzes of her Aktions.
She partially acts verry emotionaly, dooing drastic things for friends and doesent listen that much to others. But she is in the body of a young girl, had traumatic expiriences and has time and room to grow.
The femal lead is not the only intresting charakter, she has a great mom and there are some holesome moments. And a lot of badass ones. It still is a Xinxia storry.
The storry is funny and less cliche that MANY other cultivation storrys and while she is powerful and has advantages like in most Isekais she also has glaring weaknesses and we see and can understand them.
It have verry good grammar and wording stile and the author is verry fast at updating.

It is always nice to read xianxia stories. I like the characters and their not distant heroic figures their described as people with their own wants, desires and failings nothing wrong with being super overpowered but it's nice to be along for a characters developmental journey.
I've binged so far and will go up to the most recent release as soon as possible and that there in lies my dilemma, do race to end or savour the journey like fine wine?
All in all enjoying the story immensely😊

I'll keep it short and sweet. This is RR-xia done right! Pacing is good and MC is likable and their interactions do a great job of balancing realism and the drama intrinsic to xianxia. Things feel well thought out with plenty of setups and payoffs. This story benefits from being carried by it's own merits and not some gimmick that, while fun, fall off once it loses it's novelty. This story feels like it has legs and is safe to settle if for the long haul and get invested.
In closing, despite what the odd smooth-brained cave troll may say, this story is a great example of a well executed xia fic. Great work Erios! I'm looking forward to seeing where this road goes!

Do you like xianxia novels with awesome cultivation scenes?
Do you like isekai underdog stories?
How about excellent prose that's a step above nearly everything else on RR?
Well, this story has it all. Xiulan is the reviled daughter of the Lin family. As the daughter of the barren first wife who's been cast aside by her husband, she's an object of bullying and ridicule... until she dies and someone else wakes up in her body; someone with knowledge of the game the xianxia world is based on.
There's a light sprinkling of action, intense family drama/ political maneuvering, and some lovely scenes with Xiulan's family.
Style is some of the best I've seen. The level of prose is something you would see in a published novel from a big publishing house. This isn't amateur hour. It's actually nice to read this story purely for the prose.
Story is also great so far. I'm very excited to see how things progress because it's probably going to get pretty hectic and violent. There's also no fat to trim on this story. Basically at no point have I thought the author should do something different. The heart-wrenching moments were heart-wrenching. The power ups were incredible. The parts that are supposed to be enraging make my blood boil, and so on.
    Grammar is also flawless.
And character? They are all distinct with their own traits. They feel real and are complex in their own ways. You cannot ask for more, really.
So if yoh've gotten to this point in my review, what are you doing? Go and read it right now! It's an excellent cultivation novel. Go! Hurry up, you're missing out!

Really good start with lots of interesting events happening. My favourite thing about the story is that the MC has a spine and is willing to fight for herself instead of being a doormat (lots of stories could learn from this). I look forward to seeing the cultivation side of the story.

Well written, especially for RR, which can be very variable. Smooth, with good pacing.  Delivers what it promises.  A little tropey for my personal taste at times but well done for it.  1st review I’ve ever done on RR.  Had to post one after that absolute horrible and unfair review earlier today.  This is great writing.  Keep up the good work!

So far, much like the Authors other fictions, the writing and grammar has been exceptional, with genuine characters that feel real and well fleshed out. I was hooked from Chapter 1, and every hour of the first day release I was refreshing my follow list to read the newest Chapter that had been released. I love cultivation stories, and this one scratches a very satisfying Itch. I can't wait to see where the Author takes this story, and will be waiting with bated breath for the next chapter!
