Description

What exactly is a Quirk? Such a simple question should have an equally simple answer, unfortunately for Izuku, he forgot the very basic lesson of "Look before you Leap" and was woefully unprepared for just how deep the rabbit hole went. Now, with the butterfly effect in full swing, everyone will learn just how much one question can change everything...

"I'm not a Villain! I'm a Geneticist!"

This is a story of failure, loss, and sacrifice, when the world spins into chaos as one man struggles to find the invisible line between trying to understand the science behind quirks, and playing God.

This is a story of change and how that change can make a story so much different. The concept of this story alone makes it worth reading. It’s detailed, has tons of emotion and badass moments and is honestly much better than the actual story of My hero academia.
One of the best on Royal road and one I will always come back too again and again.

Despite knowing nothing about MHA, this fiction was incredibly well written, and high quality. The character development was quite well done, and I never felt that I was missing out on knowing why a character acted as they did despite not knowing anything of the source. Among villain books, this easily ranks among the top that I have seen.

An amazing story I've been reading for a while now and I don't know how it hasn't become more popular. A pretty plausible chain of events leads to some very interesting developments, and the mad scientist Izuku makes far more sense than it should. I believe the central themes of the story also tie into it very well and that it does an excellent job managing multiple concurrent plots and perspectives.
Style: excellent, maybe a little too Europian for Japan but fits very well. I also find the more Christian inspired elements done with a surprising amount of taste.
Story: excellent buildup and setup with satisfying payoffs that maintains internal consistency whilst staying true to the originals setting (assuming some major, but believable, butterfly effects).
Grammar: Great but not perfect, though without any major flaws.
Character: The characters really shine through in a multidimensional way whilst staying true to source material (barring much earned Character development). While the development of Izuku is well done and an understandable central focus, I find the development of the side characters to be surprisingly well done also, particularly for Shoto and the villain perspectives are much appreciated. My only critique would be the extent of Izuku's dislike for Allmight, while admittedly well set up it does feel a little excessive though.

Style: Everything works and the tone is pretty consistent throughout. Style is really personal preference and this given style didn't draw me out while I was reading.
Grammar: There are several mistakes that I noticed while reading, such names of characters being spelled slightly differently depending on the scene. Also some other minor mistakes that wouldn't pop up as misspelled words in a usual grammar checker, but still were incorrect grammatically in a given sentence.
Story: The beginning change the author made to alter canon events did feel a bit of a stretch. I mean what are the chances of Izuku randomly running into Kurogiri at a normal store really? It did bother me a bit, but I just shrugged and moved on as the story started kicking into gear. But besides that part it was pretty engaging story. Most conflict comes from Izuku's pursuit of science and a goal of revenge against a specific person that wronged him.
Character:  I'm enjoying the mad scientist journey of Izuku so far. I think his characterization and also that of many of the side characters is pretty good. I think they diverge from their canon portrayals quite a bit for many characters, but its close enough that it didn't bother me too much.

The first chapter really grabbed me, next chapter felt like it was written by a different person, and it only gets worse the more I read, like it's quality begins high but sets off at a steep downwards spiral.
In short, it's just an average fanfic. With all the good and bad that entails.
