The novel has every good part of a pokemon story wrapped together with excellent plot, development, and writing.
Many aspects of the pokemon world are excellently translated and given deeper meaning through the MC's understanding and comprehension. Whether that be simple actions of pokemon from the canonical series which are turned into something with much deeper meaning.
The story has excellent progression, and multiple different developments, funny moments, sympathetic actions and tension can all happen within the span of a single chapter. Everything the characters do interact and stack up ontop of one another, and it's very interesting to see how the self-centered actions of a fanatical pokemon lover (MC) translates to the greater world with things like regional politics, the Champion, and a general great growth curve.
My only complaint is that there aren't enough chapters!! I will definitely stay up to date with this amazing story. Give it a read and see what you think!

I really appreciate this fic, and how enjoyable this is. I love the care that is put on the friendship between MC and her pokemons, the interactions with other trainers and caracthers are just too good.
The slice of life parts if you could say are just a rest to my soul, it's just too good to just enjoy the calm days to play with the pokemons, make food for them, or cuddle with the fluffly ones.
I love the way we aren't stuck in a path of just solving problems cause by Team Rocket and instead exploring and enjoying pokemon and their world, seeing new pokemon and creating trust between one another.

I think this may be the first time I actually write a review for a story on RR, despite the dozens of stories I've enjoyed over the years. The reason being, thatPokémon Trainer Vickygreatly exceeded my expectations and I want other people to know it's worth reading.I didn't think much of it going in. The art is a bit generic, and the synopsis left me with details to be desired. "Just another SI fic", I thought. But no. It deserves its spot on Rising, and in my Favorites.Style: The MC is written as a 9 then 10-year-old with access to memories and experience of an adult of unknown age. This blend shows through better than other SI-fics however, in that she is much more carefree and thoughtless at times, making mistakes and learning as she attempts to apply her knowledge of early pokemon games and movies/show to her own life. Her simple joys are balanced well with more calculated thoughts, and the style reflects this. Scenes from the perspective of other characters are well-written to be distinguishably different, and nothing feels dragged out or skipped over.Leading into Story: The MC's life is well built up by showing instead of telling, the reader learning about things as they happen and as the MC experiences them for the first time instead of any huge 3rd-person exposition dumps. I'm quite happy with the pacing so far, and have just reached Chapter 18 when I paused to write this review. When a particular part of the story directly involves other characters, the reader isn't left wondering what's happening off-screen for too long before the story delivers on the concurrent plot. Also, I cannot predict how every single encounter will occur just because a known character from the source material is introduced in some way, because of how only a few key elements of the OG Pokémon story have been butterfly-ed away to intriguing effect.Grammar: The MC is a 10-year-old, and interacts with a number of her peers. So it does not read poorly-written for there to be simpler dia

An extremely enjoyable read. All the characters have remarkably believable personalities, and there's a major diverging point unrelated to the protagonist to set this story apart from official Nintendo canon. This leads to an interesting take on the Self-Insert/Isekai formula not seen very often.
An absolute must-read for Pokemon Fanfiction, and I eagerly hope the Author continues Vicky's story in additional volumes, similar to Radical Redux.

Overall, It’s a fun read. The MC’s Pokemon are so overwhelmingly strong that very little can stop her, so she basically does whatever she wants as the only thing stopping her is politics. If you enjoy those moments between battles, there’s lots of that too.
Most of it is the MC wanting to do something fun only to have politics stop her, but sometimes she’s left unsupervised and chaos ensues.

Very well written with great, likable characters and pokemon. Cool pokes, battling is awesome and well written and it really does get into some of the underlying things that's are not discussed in the game. I'm not a big politics dude but the politics mixed in with the story is the perfect amount. So overall 5 stars and highly recommended!

I need more, especially after the Z/A announcement. This book just won't let me put it down! The personality of the pokemon. The main character, the twist the world has with the unique concept of an iskekai not exactly being the main focus. It just all combines far to well. Kudos to you it's been a while since I felt like a kid playing omega ruby and alpha sapphire this book just reaches in and yanks on those child like thoughts and feelings. Keep it up!

I am absolutely absorbed in this. My husband and I play all the Pokémon games,  he isn’t much of a reader so I’ve been talking about the little things in this book that I think are fantastic and he thinks they are really awesome too. Great job! Keep it up!

I devoured this.  I like Pokémon, I often don't like Pokémon fan-fic for a number of reasons.  For starters, the world is too small unless you expand upon it.  Also, there's often far too much of an emphasis in the actual battles without understanding the stakes that make them fun.Vicky solves both those problems.  Add on-top that she's the most entertaining protagonist/narrator in the Pokémon genre and you've got a fun read.

Do you remember back in the day? Playing Blue or Red? Using that link cable thing to battle your friends? Watching the show? Collecting Pokémon cards?
This brings back some good memories of those times. And while it is relatively light hearted, there are some deeper, more scarier things underlying things. A potential for war. When Joy looked like she had "aged a century in half a second". Society have to deal with Pokémon rampages. Life isn't as easy and one way track as the game led you to believe.
    I'm enjoying this story.
