Phantasm is an enjoyable story, and instead of like it's name might suggest, Kandice is not solo leveling like a lonely ghost, but very involved with the people around her.
The style of writing is above average, action is conveyed well, the blue screens for the LitRPG aspect are not overwhelming, and the internal dialogue is enjoyable.
Isekai plot wise the story isn't bringing anything super new or revolutionary to the genre, but it's treading the old path very, very well.
Kandice is powerful, but she's not quite OP,  and though her progression is accelerated due to her Isekai status, it's not out of control. Her growth is done at a refreshing pace.
Something that was a huge draw is how clean the story is, there were opportunities for the author to take a lewd route and those have thankfully not been taken. Also a huge plus is that murder has not become a norm, Kandice isn't dispelling death.
Characters are well done and fleshed out. Not that we're getting info dumpy on backstories, but people's actions and motivations are believable. And there's no party that is just for the evulz, so that is a major plus.
I think the whole Aubert sub plot was done super well. Yes, he is a lordling brat, and he crossed a lot of lines, but he's actually changing I hope. I really loved that brief scene at the cemetery, I felt it fleshed him out further (he dallies, but takes care of the offspring at least) but also it showed him how he was wrong too, treating wen like that.
And there was another scene where Kandice turned the tables on him that was provocative (but you kept it mild, thank you) and really showed how he could have thought he wasn't "forcing" people while really, he was.
And Elodie is a great character too, and I like how she didn't end up being a betrayer so far, but a potential successor when Kandice (probably) ends up leaving the city in pursuit of the greater plot being set up (namely her being a world walker, the other world walkers, and the parties interested in m

I don't know why this is not Trending. It is definitely not a quality issue, because this is good.
So, if you like isekai, good grammar, a game system with a few twist to make it interesting, and adventuring with dungeon diving, give it a chance and you won't be dissapointed.

Lots of stories try to write smart, socially intelligent protagonists who go all over the place making Machiavellian plots and T-posing over people who can't comprehend their genius plans. Most fail. This story, on the other hand, succeeds in producing some actually semi-Machiavellian Machiavellian plots, actually intriguing intrigue, and so forth. It's very satisfying to read.
Style: Well-executed, to put it short. Clear and concise, and engaging enough that I binge-read it in one go when I first found it. The LitRPG system is both relatively novel in terms of the actual system, and used in such a way that while you remain aware of its existence and it plays an active role in the story, it also plays a bigger role than just 'unga-bunga big numbers' and 'cool skill descriptions' (though it has those too). LitRPG systems almost universally gamify combat, getting experience from fighting that instantly improves your skills and boost your physique. This is the first one I've seen that takes that to it's logical conclusion and actually applies it to some other facets of life, like 'social combat', where you get experience and supernatural social skills and insight from beating people in negotiations or intrigues. And it also balances stats and such in such a way that you can understand why everyone isn't a superpowered combat savant or unparalleled giga-brain genius diplomat. It's refreshing.
Story: 72 chapters in, we're still getting introduced to the world, and we've only recently gotten a hint of what might be the overarching plotline, but it decidedly doesn't feel like it. From an absolute point of view, this is still only the very beginning of the tale, but from Candice's perspective, the gods having kidnapped you to another world without your consent for the purpose of literally changing the maps of the world powers is someone else's concern; her first priority is finding a source of income so she doesn't starve in the streets and getting a handle on the world so

    it's pretty good.
I'll start with the beginning and compare it to other novels to explain why I love this so much.
while the story starts off as you would usually expect from a fantasy lit-rpg, which probably lowered it's rating, I think it gets generally better than that fast. the mc is an earth reincarnated person that got an upper hand on the rest of the denizens, and was sent in order to 'save the world'. there's not much about the plot besides that. but I can say it evolves pretty decently. the enemies make sense, and while not permenant you do get more than the two dimensional young masters. the conflict aren't initiated by some mysterious force, but the mc still encounters difficulties. enough to make the story interesting. it starts off in a farm, with relatively poor grammer, then the mc goes off to face the world.
now, the reason why I like this novel especially is mostly related to the mc. the mc is rational and likeable. very competant, and she is also pretty different from most mcs you usually 'meet' in the reincarnated genre. it's enough to make you think of this as another fresh take on the reincarnation fantasy genre. from the newly stardart base that new bard stories tend to have, with mcs that rely more on persuastion than strength. that's where the mc comes from. she's surprisingly competant at navigating the social aspects of the world. where others would struggle and just go with the brute force approach. the mc manages to intermingle and blend herself into the world she lives in.
which is why I love her so much. it really always doesn't go 'as planned'. she's not a full bard as well. the class 'phantasmal enchanter' does gives her lots of versitility on what to choose. while it's not very good for combat oriented individuals, it provides illusion magic for combat, money making abilities with enchantments, and charm plus pure social skills for the landscape - all three are things that individually are great, but together really give her flexibil

I very much enjoyed the protagonists problem solving skills early on, sadly they seem to have fallen off of late. Still enjoying myself with the characters and the world though. The lit rpg system felt more well defined early on as well, after a slew of early upgrades it’s become rather difficult to see our protagonists path as equally viable in the later levels compared to others.

Very well written story, the pace is balanced, not too slow but not too fast either, and the character and world build are pretty interesting. Quite a pleasant experience to read it. It has a fair shair of suspense and an overall originality. And it is refreshing to read something that is polished enough to feel professional.

So something I have noticed in the LitRpg genre is all the MCs trying to talk their way out of everything but having horrible builds for it. This series is different, the MC bases her build on being social and trying to talk their way out of problems and its really refreshing. I enjoy this series alot.

The author has an easily readable style, the plot feels logical and thought-out and the protagonist is actually likable & fun to read about.
The system itself is not meant to make people struggle too much, and the protagonist isn't someone primarily fighting with weapons - so sometimes it feels a bit too easy for her. Social challenges (or intrigues) are more balanced so she does end up loosing from time to time.
All in all a recommendable read if you like light-hearted, well developed litRPGs.

I stumbled across the Audiobooks and was very impressed! Many books in this genre are superficial, but this series is refreshingly innovative. I especially like that regular dungeon diving is not forgotten between the politics! Dungeons are the best!
Also the progression doesn't devolve into exponentially powercreep like so many others, very good!

Over the course of the story this transitions from an adaption to a new world to a story of political intrigue powered through the system. It is difficult to review fairly without giving away major plot points. That said it explores the consequences of system backed nobility and what effects are on that when you have someone from our modern day interacting with it.
