Petals In The Wind

Set in the world of my TTRPG settingGateway to Ōtori, Petals In The Wind follows the story of Oda Koromi, a Samurai courtier, as she navigates a political crisis in a Japan that never will be.

In the yearKōki 2720 (Gregorian 2060), the Grand Shogunate of Japan is the dominant power in the world. Ruling over the vast majority of the Pacific and Asia, their only competitors are far to the west. The Shogun's grip is mighty, and he is revered as a living God by the peasantry. He rules over an Empire of Humans, Oni, Yōkai and other strange folk. At least, he did -- Three days ago, the Shogun died, leaving behind no clear heir. The megacity of Edo falls into chaos, while far in the north the Land of Barbarians, Ezochi, stirs with nightmarish creatures and deadly weather phenomena.

Oda Koromi, formerly Dojima Koromi, is a young Samurai stuck in a political marriage. While wasting away in a remote coastal estate, she comes to learn of the Shogun's fate, and embarks on a journey across Japan to rescue her sister from danger.

Petals In The Wind is set in a world that blends fantasy and cyberpunk, religious oppression and punk rebellion, Samurai politics and violent action. Magic is rare but very real, and has been twisted for industrial use by the Shogunate. With Japan descending into chaos, what shall become of those caught in the whirlwind.
