Description

After the devastation of World War 3, a new VRMMO called Callixtus was released, offering players a chance to earn real-world credits for exploration, grand battles, and navigating its complex social hierarchy. Upon Reina's arrival at the esteemed Seyapporon Academy, the VRMMO became a part of the school's learning core, categorizing students' leadership potential based on their actions and influence in-game. In a world of war, politics, developing magic and mythical weapons, a prophecy of ‘Holy Knights’ emerges to battle a new enemy and their monstrous creations. Reina plans to challenge it all and push the game's realism to its limits, no matter the consequences.

Some clarifications and notes:

- While this is a School Life/SoL Novel, it contains dark and traumatic content. I advise you to be aware, as I won't put warnings to spoil avid horror readers.

- Multiple characters with some exploration, town-building, and politics. There's something for everyone and I never write a perspectivewithout you knowing something new afterwards.

- The Game World of Callixtus has an entire map, along with special ranking, magic systems, races, classes, and commands/spells. I'll make a list once enough information is given.

- This book containsDramaandRomanceaspects, though they'll benaturally occurringand won't be the focus of the story.

- There are a lot of characters both in Callixtus and in the real world. At some point, I'll create a fandom/wiki so you'll be able to visualize them all with art, along with a ranking chart of the different academy brackets.

after reading the first few chapters, ‘callixtus’ begins as a slow build story that seems to bridge teenage and high school drama, with politics and virtual reality.
    style:
written in 1st person perspective, readers are directly connected to the thoughts and perceptions of the main character, learning in depth about her negative views about video games, as well as her concerns about her status and public appearances. this voice colours the prose, giving a polished and straightforward approach to the narrative, as well as a judgemental tone throughout.
and while this writing style is direct and enhances the character's personality, the author also highlights vivid descriptions of the environment to guide the reader's imagination. this, along with snippets of history, help bring the world to life, making the reading experience entertaining and immersive.
    story:
as mentioned before, ‘callixtus’ is a slower story as the first initial chapters aim to ground the main character, as well as introduce the cast and the world, both real and virtual.
the narrative unfolds to reveal the aftermath of a devastating world war—with new tokyo and its technological advances being the backdrop of the real world. the story so far follows our protagonist, reina, who finds herself in charge of the high royal’s club, a gaming club that does not match the prestige image of the revered school, seyapporon academy. with her only goal so far being to improve her image among her peers, it seems the narrative is setting up reina to navigate the social hierarchy of high school and in turn the political scene, although that remains to be seen as of yet.
as of right now, the story is just beginning and seems to hope to balance both fantasy and sci-fi elements as the two worlds begin to collide, with reina starting her journey delving into the world of vrmmo. it’ll be interesting to see how she handles this venture and if her views about video games change over the course of the story. i’m sure reade

This  series perfectly shows the MC's Mindset, her environment, and her relationships.  She is  someone focused on success and maintaining her image.  The settings are well described in this story, giving a clear visual of what the story is set in and paying attention to the details in a very well manner. Characters, 10/10. Entertaining  well-done cast of characters.
Reina being someone who hates the VRMMO is a spin on things that I haven't seen too much before, but this was enjoyable to read and her reactions are  entertaining.
Overall, Reina is a complex character with room for growth,  and things get interesting with new introduction of characters. I do have to say one thing though, in the beginning it felt weird to see the shift in the 3rd chapter in the views; however, the decision to shift did not take away from the overall storytelling that was provided. I do suggest though that if you are going to shift between perspective views, that you do mention so within  Author notes or something so that other readers would  be prepared for  this.  While it is  clear and easy to follow ,  doing so   could lead to  some confusion.  The Story is still Very Unique and I encourage others to give it a read.

Our leading lady, Reina, is as self-absorbed as they come, but hey, that's what makes her the perfect fit for the villainess role. She's got this calculated vibe that adds a whole new level of intrigue to the story. But her being a total newbie when it comes to MMO is such a compelling way to integrate world-building into the narratives. (A nice MOE gap too). I want to see more of the world from her perspective.
And then there's Chihiro, the wild card in the mix. You never know what she's gonna pull, which keeps things interesting, to say the least.
Tiger on the other hand is a total opposite of Reina. He's all collected and chill, which balances out the Reina nicely. I like their heart-to-heart bicker and banter.I hope that as they continue to play together, they'll open up to each other more.
The worldbuilding aspect of the story is stellar. The author paints this vivid picture of the main character's way of living that sucks you right into the story.
Grammar-wise, there is nothing to complain about here. Smooth immersion throughout.
In a nutshell, Callixtus serves up a juicy mix of character drama, epic worldbuilding, and plot twists that'll keep you hooked until the end.
    Give it a go!

Style - The author has a clean and perfectly flowing style. The environmental descriptions are blended with the events in a very satisfying way. I could portray the characters, their positions and everything around them almost in all the scenes.
Grammar - I didn't spot mistakes, jarring bits or anything of the sort. It's clear that the author went through a thorough proof reading and crafted the chapters with care.
Story - The story, for what I could see so far, feels very promising. Especially the world building, which is dual - We have the real world, and then the more complicate world of Callixtus. I am pretty sure the author intends on expanding both in the later chapters. The school ambience feels very familiar to the anime medium, and that is not a bad thing.
Characters - The characters are simply amazing. I love Reina, which is already very complex and is not the plain goody-two-shoes female MC I often see in other stories. She is someone I (in a good way) found very annoying at some points, and that's probably what makes her so enjoyable. Tiger is also interesting...he's a chill guy which is probably going to bond a lot with Reina, who is basically a wonderful tsundere with him.
I come from a review swap. However, I might keep reading, since this is clearly going somewhere good. I recommend to give it a try.

Our story starts with our main character, Reina, who starts this story with her thoughts on video games. Such a thing introduces to her a lot, which helps provide the thought and ideas that this character will be in for the majority of the story. She talks and thinks a lot which allows us to get immersed into her thought process and begin to understand what exactly makes her tick. Her circumstances, her ideas, are all laid plain and bare in the first chapter which is a fantastic way to start off this show.
Then we're introduced to the world as well as the other character that'll be in the centerpiece: Tiger. Thus the story begins with their conflicts revolving around these two in their interactions as well as games, all of which resulting in Reina trying out Callixtus. All of which helps cement the conflicts and interactions that play out afterwards.
The style is done to provide to provide more focus into the thought process of Reina. It's done and works as a means to cement this person that Reina is, the thoughts overflowing and providing more guidance into her mindset.
The grammar doesn't have any issues. It's quite good as is, haven't found any errors.
The characters exist and provide the structure for almost all interactions in the story. They are written well enough that they do not feel two dimensional, allowing the reader to get immersed and thus have a full understanding of why such chain of events occur.

This is part of a review swap, and is for the first 10 chapters.
Style: The style is decent and works for the purposes of the story. It feels a bit over the top at times, and I'm not a huge fan of the way the exposition is delivered, but the writing style is good for the most part. 4
Story: Might just be a personal opinion, but I didn't find it very engaging plot wise. I think this could benefit from the usage of a cold open. The world is interesting, but is a bit limited. There is a real history behind it, but I haven't seen the characters interact with it in real ways. The VR aspect isn't described super well, so the virtual world doesn't feel real. Some stuff seems to go in circles without much real progress. I'm only 10 chapters in so this can easily be disproven later on, but for now I feel like 3 stars is the most appropriate rating for the story.
Grammar: 5 stars, no real issues are present.
Character: The MC is somewhat interesting if a bit cliche. The other characters show potential and can be interesting, but at times they feel like blank slates. I think this is a story that could really benefit from exploring multiple POVs. 3.5 Stars.
Overall: About 4 Stars overall. This has potential, and with some clearer plotting could become much better.

Honestly the story is not too far along to give an accurate opinion but from what I have read so far the story is very promising.
The story feels very similar to others in the virtual reality gaming genre but the author's approach feels fresh and different, which seems to focus more on politics, manipulation and conspiracies than on adventure and action. With a protagonist that is obnoxious and not at all heroic.
The only downsides I would put to the story would be that it is quite confusing having quite a few time jumps, changes of places or PoV changes quite abrupt even omitting some events or important information. Finally the protagonist, especially at the beginning, is quite hateful and confusing but in more advanced chapters calms down and is a decent protagonist.
Ah one last detail, the warnings are there for a reason, read at your own risk.
