the story starts and it dives right in without giving any details or context as to why the main character is playing the game not even there real name, gender or face actual John/Jane doe over here but that doesn't matter because it's game time and immediately it's some non descript forest so non descript that we don't even know if it is a forest just that there are trees and a river now we start getting introduced to more characters like Alexx with two Xs and Yin and Yang they make a couple huts a fire and some tools then they try to log out uh oh looks like the log out button is disabled and then an announcement from the developer stating this was his plan all along who could have seen this coming
I do not like this trope not only is it super generic but what reason would the developer have for doing this in the first place most stories have it be that they aren’t in a VR game anymore but an alternate reality that at least gives a good reason for this type of thing happening but it being the developer never made sense why would someone purposefully do this cause I guarantee that whatever reason anyone comes up with will be met with “what's stopping him from doing that without trapping everyone in the game” there is no reason for someone to do this unless it's a plot contrivance I mean what happens to your body do you just die in your bed because you didn’t eat for 10 days like what happens when a quarter of a billion people die because they couldn’t get medical treatment what reason would you give that makes that a necessary sacrifice as a matter of fact what happens when the electricity is turned off or the console experiences memory bleed what about hackers how will the government respond now I want to know these things because that sounds really interesting
I'm sure most people who write this kind of story don't think of that because it's meant to be wishfulfilment it's meant to desregard the reality of the situation for an escapist fantasy but that's what the

The premise is simple, has good slice of life, progression elements and is overall a really solid story though the plot is lacking.
Still, I like the characters who have actual distinguishable personalities, even relatable at times and the survival elements while basic are actually present and the world works with the rules set in place by the author.
Action and fights are also clear, well paced and injuries are treated seriously enough.
Overall, a good solid read, not the best story and far from perfect but good enough for someone like me.

How has no one else written a rewiew? Come read this story.
Story opening: The inventor of VR whos been in seculation for like a decade, makes a new game and traps everyone in it and noone knows way.
The characters have played VR games before, but this is a new game, so no 'Log Horizons' max level, no specific understand of 'this' game's mechanics. They're told 'die in the game, die in real life' but they cann't prove that's true, they don't even have a clear endgame goal.
Its part slice of life, part progression, not amazing, but soild. Give it a read

I'm not usually a reader of stuck or trapped in games or death game stories, but this one is pretty decent as they go. The story is well thought out, characters have their own relatable personalities that I can empathise with at times. A few tropes get followed but nothing too serious, honestly.
Maya is the best girl, though she hasn't appeared much yet. Calix is a close second
