Description

Jake had never really played video games before, let alone the latest in FDVRMMORPGs. So when he gets put on enforced leave from his job for the Natural Preservation Society and has nothing else to do, his new roommate, Andy, suggests that they play the hottest new game, Grande New World, together.

It's just an accident that Jake manages to break the game in the first ten minutes of playing, and receive a massive payout of in-game currency for doing so. Now he's being called "The Firster" by other players, and has to navigate a world he knows almost nothing about, despite Andy's best efforts.

The reason I put it at 5 stars is because I honestly couldn't stop reading it. There's no gripes at all. I can't recommend it enough

Normally I don't like VR stories but this one just sucks you in and keep you interested. You can see the MC grows as you read both in personality and power, skills and experience. He is kind and yet firm, a bit of of pushover. yet despite this you get the sense he is growing and he is fiercely protective of his individuality and a bonus he is yet to be murderhobo

OPMC story that rolls along quite well, leaving little hooks and teasers in the story that pull you in, leaving you wanting to see what happens next.
Lots of stories have similar set ups but are much weaker, lacking the humanity the characters and world seem to have in this story.
    Well worth reading

This is a fun story to read, but if you stop for a moment, the details begin to feel somewhat odd, too driven by the story, and going against the setting: this is a VR story, where the players aren't locked into the game. Despite this, the story starts introducing elements where the game world poses an actual threat to players. Completely illogical within the setting.
The litrpg part could be better as well with there being multiple mix-ups: character and/or skill level gains forgotten and gained again.
Also, most of the real world is handwaved away: it's just a place for time to pass while the characters aren't playing.
In conclusion: fun casual story, but read only if you're able to disregard details.

Story  feels very flat not alot of details the main character is a push over who does whatever people tell him to do and a bit of an idiot the author is trying to tell a story with almost no background info on who the main protagonist is and his background

    Not for me.
The story is based on bad premises leading to poor character development. Including side characters that are even more blend than the main character.
I went up to the 20th chapter and my impression is that this is a woke stroke. Leftist bias and ideology from top to bottom.
    Best of luck.
