Description

SHE SHOULD NOT EXIST!

In a world of strict paths governed by a deity known as Order, Eana is born with an incredibly unlikely talent. Her gift, however, only ever brings about chaos and misfortune.  As her list of accidental enemies grows, she turns for help to the one person who has never let her down – her wannabe warrior brother, Idris. Together, they set out on a journey to discover the source of her curse and to see just how far down the Path of Chaos they'll be forced to travel.

The setting takes the boilerplate litRPG mechanics and follows them to their logical extremes. We have 'heroes' who actively poke at the limits of their universe's internal laws and exploit them with brutal logic, forming an almost predatory cycle of adventuring that is nothing like the neat, goody-two-shoes adventurers leagues so common in other novels of this genre. There are no saved files here, no convenient resets that remove all tension from the narrative. Every choice has permanent consequences, from the stats the PCs pour into their skillsets to the daily life-or-death decisions that are the lot of an adventurer's life. The world's many dungeons themselves are a hostile ecosystem which actively respond to the efforts of the forces of order in what is a very clever reimagining of the levelling system.
Despite the danger and grit of the setting, the heart of the story is really the touching relationship between Eana and Idris, the misfit siblings who embark on a quest to escape from their dull mining town and strike out into a world of seemingly endless possibilities.
Only to discover a system of prejudice and greed that churns through their idealism like it does the legions of prospective heroes, the harshness of this new reality straining their bond to its utmost. It may be too soon to tell at this point, but it seems to me like the siblings are bound down two separate yet equally dark paths ahead. Excited to see how their destinies will intertwine down the road!
