Description
Things are looking up for Emily Smith! When her life was cut short by a nuclear war, something, or perhaps someone, decided that what had happened to her was not just, and she was given another chance at existence. There is, however, more waiting for her on this new world than just a fresh start! She is given a choice: seek vengeance, or seek peace! Her choice, at least to her, was obvious... but it will have far-reaching and profound consequences to the new world she now calls home. Also, she's a werewolf, a monster... So that's... a thing.

- mugedaiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic story with an intriguing world, excellent style, and delightful characters. The writing is both easy to read quickly and rewarding to savor carefully.
The overall story is cool and thematic with dramatic fights. However the story shines most in its character interactions and domestic activities.
As a bonus this story hits a bunch of my biases including but not pimited to: werewolves, undeath, and surprisingly accurate descriptions of pre-modern crafting amd foraging.
This story is a real hidden gem. - aivhorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This has one of the most interesting isekai premises I have seen to date: Earth has been ruined by nuclear war and the survivors struggle to eke out any kind of life in the ruins. Think Fallout or Wasteland.
When the protagonist is transferred to a fantasy world with scary monsters and magic and danger, she is delighted. Her body is strong and healthy, the air is clear, the water pure, the skies blue, the forest full of life.
Instead of bemoaning the lack of modern amenities, bland food, or physical dangers, she is having the time of her life. A ruined, abandoned inn still has a more comfortable bed than what she is used to, food that isn't going to kill her and is even fresh is an almost alien concept, and monsters are nothing after having to deal with unhinged post-apocalyptic raiders showing the worst humanity has to offer.
This prepares her to face the fairly standard isekai protagonist challenges with an unwaveringly positive and optimistic mindset that not only fails to be naive or stupid, it feels earned and perhaps even aspirational. The basic conceit is brilliant in how effectively it sets up the tone and themes the author wants to explore in the secondary world. It's inspired.
Lastly, I can't write a review without mentioning how the text is presented. It's a tiny bit unusual, but it really works here. There is consistent use of colour - and occasionally of fonts and other formatting - not just to highlight System elements, but also to convey emotions, mood, and even magical effects. It's effective and fun - a unique choice that makes it very memorable. Crucially, it's not overused. It's ever-present, but carefully deployed for maximum effect without becoming distracting. - BeyogiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Honestly this is in many ways a bog standard Isekai. Differences are our protag is female, not male. She got nuked rather than hit by a truck. She takes the peasant class rather than the warrior class. She's a werewolf and she's cute.
Somehow this story makes the exploration of a pretty standard System Isekai world incredibly cute and fascinating. I don't know why, what this story is exactly doing right, but it's awesome. Definite 5 out of 5 recommendation so far. - FoxgirlSAIRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is one of my FAVORITE BOOKS on Royalroad. Please don't let it go on hiatus. It's a perfect balance between action and cavity inducing fluff. I especially like the relationship between the MC and her wolf, as well as the one between the MC and her girlfriend. :) It is absolutely unique and AWESOME!!!!!
- JortlessRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What a wonderful story! Strikes a great balance of cozy and relaxing while not feeling like the world around the cast is paused.
Characters are well written, intelligent, and each feel unique, they each have their own voice.
The system and it's skills and stats is ever present but never feels too in your face or overwhelming, it feels like it fits the story and meshes well with it and helps move it's plot along naturally.
Overall, great story, I'm really glad I stumbled across it and highly recommend it to anyone else who is even mildly interested. - UnderwhelmingBirdRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Started on a whim, couldn't be happier with that choice. Soft and squishy feelings mesh with bits of turmoil, a monstrous gal trying to find her way in a brand new world. She steps into a minor scuffle almost immediately as she stokes the embers of a place forgotten by time. Purpose and direction come next, helped along by a new friend. Apologies for the odd phrasing, but spoilers are a drag!
Nothing but pleasant surprise with how well a typically formulaic System-adventure has been worked into something that feels so organic. Easy to pick up and truly comprehend without needing a total handholding approach, with neat little subtextual parts for the nerds picking apart specific diction.
Some of the characters we're still getting to know, but for our main gals they seem to stand on their own with unique aspects that define them as their own self. Exploring who they are is part of what makes the story enjoyable, learning their histories in the process.
No grammatical errors beyond an occasional typo, and that helps a ton for clarity while reading. Deeply appreciative of that.
Normally when I catch up to current-release I find myself a bit remorseful. For this story, though, I feel excited for what is next. It's a unique experience I intend to cherish as the narrative develop further. - VagrantCandleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very cute and wholesome, delightful blend of serious and silly, fast-paced yet cozy, almost makes me wish I also had a dog version of myself in my head to keep me company. It's whimsical in the best way. At the same time, the plot is taken seriously and it's a compelling narrative.
- ValfreyjaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If I could sum up what makes this novel stand out to me in one sentence it would be "Excellently Balanced". It mixes all the standard portal fantasy / Litrpg stations without letting any of it get stale. There's crafting, town building, skill grinding, slice of life, character moments and combat; it all flows together seamlessly.
An important part of any LitRPG for me is the system and the classes our protagonist takes. This novel nails it with a a system that has an interesting twist. The classes our protagonist takes are a good blend of interesting and balanced (I love the life class in contrast with the monster class)
To top it off the I found no issues with the grammar and the writing flowed perfectly.
Love, life and lycanthropy has instantly jumped to the top of my favourite novels of RR
(You can tell it's one of my favourites since I've got to get up at 6am and I stayed up to 1am to finish binging this absolute delight) - Was.Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Fantastic so far!
Our heroine is funny, sweet, a little dumb (but in the good endearing way) and an absolute powerhouse just at the beginning of her journey!
I really like all of the characters, main and side, so far. They all feel very well rounded with motivations and histories of their own.
Fantastic work!
I am only disappointed in that I burned through the current 40 chapters in about 2 hours, I wish there were 400! - TwinkieMcGooRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall the writing is really good and I love the characters so much!! The book so far has been and incredible read that is very worth it. The book doesn't feel bogged down by the litrpg statpages, and feel very quick and natural to reaad through. I cannot wait to read more of this!
