Description

If you're one to travel the roads, you may have heard of me. You may have heard my Names in the stories, the songs, and the whispers of the road. Perhaps you've even seen me during my travels, speaking to a bird of blue light, or on a city street, performing small acts for coin and repute. Or perhaps you may know me as the Skystrider, who walked with the wind. Or the Voiceless, a man of song without speech. You may know me as the Tutor, who taught the Lion of Summer how to fight, or the Traveler, who has walked all the roads of the earth. I am all of these things.

And people have branded me a myth.

But people don't understand what a myth is. They haven't heard the songs lost to our tongues, nor have they seen the things I've seen. They haven't gone to the places I've gone.

My feet have walked the plains, the seas, and the clouds. I have spoken languages unspoken; tongues lost to time. I have sung to the earth, held the moon in my arms, and walked the roads that your heroes hesitate to even mention. I have outwitted Demons. I have danced with the Fae. My songs have been heard by lords of wind and ash, and my steps have echoed in the bellies of gargantuan beasts the likes of which you have never seen.

Theseare what real myths are. And me?

I'm no legend.

I'm just the bard stupid enough to poke the real ones with a stick.

Thanks for clickbaiting me. Was not disappointed at all. I binged most of it in one sitting. Gives the feeling of being consistent without telling me the entire system of how things work. The plot seems well thought-out and holds my attention.

Awesome story. You really managed to capture and illustrate those things that we shouldn't be able to understand. It's written very well, almost like you're painting a story. The worldbuilding is fantastic, and you don't do a big info dump which makes everything a whole grade up from many stories. Great job, the story is excellent.

LIT is lit. Amazing writing from world building, story progression, characters, power system and everything else. Amazing art drawn, which also provides a small visual example of the world.
Of course it is taking very long for book 2 but at least there has been a conformation for it.
    Definitely within my top novels/books.

This is the poetic yet accessible journey of a bard lost to the world. It is written well, stylized tone fitting characters and story.
That style – clearly emulating Rothfuss, as others have said also – is not as consistent as one would like. Especially dialogue will have a fundamentally different feel to it. The last line of the synopsis that reads “I'm just the bard stupid enough to poke the real ones with a stick” is a good example of harsh tones in usually melodic verses.
And, while well stylized, I kind of do not see the story going anywhere. The protagonist, at the early point I currently am in the story, is so fundamentally lost, that I fail to imagine a purpose for him. It's like a song without its own story. That might work for three minutes on the radio, but not in a concert house.
All of this is criticism of the finer points of, comparatively, rather high-quality work, which results in those criticism not eating into this website's star rating. Still, I am dropping this because I wasn't made to care.
And yet, even if I didn't care for the protagonist's journey, the characterizations of the beings the bard meets were absolutely stellar. They are the most exceptional aspect of this book, and may just be the reason you'll fall in love with this book.

Finally an actual magic story. So many authors on this site just spit out Litrpgs because they seem easier but the reader always has to deal with the lack of thought put in.
This story so far hasn't fallen to those traps. The magic has a backbone and easy to see and understand ways of progression without making the MC's power level seem too whimsical or plot forced.
The world building is there, just hovering in the background and you slowly get it in an organic way as the MC either finds out about things himself or slowly and naturally fills the reader in on how the world is.
So far no major problems on grammar and even very few minor ones. Defintiely to the point that if you're engrossed in things you probably won't be pulled out due to bad phrasing/syntax or grammar.
The characters so far have been interesting, even before the author goes in depth on them, they've been done well enough that you can usually feel the depth from intial contact with them through their quirks or even just their description. Sometimes for the staying side characters you even get a kind of prologue introduction of some of the characters and those are good and short enough to not really detract from the main character's journey.
As for the main character he's pretty well done, he has that youthful outlook on life shining through with the hints of maturity that would come from someone of his upbringing.

Just binged this whole thing...My word, this book is a real gem, and now it's off to get polished with editing before being published, and honestly -- I suspect most of the actual editing will consist more of a case of font and type setting for print and/or ebook.   There's a few scenes scattered here and there which might get re-worded for a little extra clarity, or tightened for a bit of extra punch...but IMHO, this is no diamond in the rough, it's already finely cut and sparkling.
One of my favorite Fae / Faustian stories of all time...Can't wait for book two.

I truly wasn't prepared for this gem. Neither the title, nor the the cover art made me imagine I'd find myself immersed to the neck in a wonderous world full of immortals, spirits, magic and pacts, yet I couldn't be happier.
The prose is good, the character are great and even in those 44 short chapters I've read, several have already managed to bring me to tears.
I both look forward to when the 'family arc' concludes. Whether the next one can live up to the stellar one this novel is leading with, will show whether this story is simply great, or a masterpiece.

I love everything about it so far even if i'm not too far in. The chapters are quite long and the grammar is flawless! I love the characters from their personality to their design and the story is a bit mysterious which keeps me reading. Keep up the great work!

I have no words which can adequately describe how much I want you to read this book and enjoy it as much as I have. This kind of magic is one of my favorite kinds in books, and I just hope that everyone reading this can feel the same about it.
