Description

Terrans are not the strongest species in the universe. They are not the fastest species. They are most definitely not the smartest. But Terrans are the loneliest, willing to befriend anything that moves and several things that don't. After humanity nearly made themselves extinct with a "Terran brand oopsie"™, billions of Terrans awaken from stasis and set themselves upon a Galaxy teeming with alien life, each writing their own story among the stars. Stories of compassion, of anger, of revenge, of justice. Stories of the clever and stories of the downright stupid. But mostly the story of Terrans looking for the one thing that all beings desire: Friendship amongst a lonely universe. A half wholesome, half emotionally scaring, half self improvement writing project, half mathematics fail due to there being too many halves. Originally posted and created for /r/HFY

Granted I'm not finished with it yet, but I think I'm fairly close, catching up as quick as I can. :-).  There is so much that is hard to read in the story, pain characters that you may or may not get attached with that. May or may not survive as well as you would expect in a "regular" HFY author... But it's an epic tale that I very much enjoyed and can't wait to finish binging and catch up.

I especially like the relatio ship between the humans and their terran "children".
Can't wait to see where it all leads to.

This is an amazing collection of stories about a wonderfully thought out universe. All of the different short stories feel like they could be real, with the sad moments being enough to make somebody cry and the funny moments being able to make you laugh out loud, very out loud, all while keeping the entire thing feeling like it could actually happen at some point in the future at most times. Of course being soft sci fi it has moments where you need to suspend disbelief, but I don't think they detract from the story at all and this is still worthy of a 5 star review. At the point where I am right now, there has been one longer form story, and it hits just as hard as all of the short form ones. It has some typos, but that is also to be expected considering this was originally from Reddit, and the author seems to fix them when they are pointed out most of the time. At the time of writing this review, I have noticed exactly zero glaring flaws or plot holes in the universe, and the worst mistake in the details I could find was saying that a mars sunset is red(they're actually blue). Obviously, this is not at all a glaring issue, and wouldn't disrupt the reading experience for anybody except for the select few people who just want to be correct at the cost of everyone else's fun. Overall this is an amazing collection of stories that you should 100% give a try.

"LF Friends, Will Travel" is a fun sci-fi epic that flips the usual tropes on their heads. Humans are a benevolent, friendly society, and one of the few to create a truly helpful, understanding AI rather than one that eventually turns on them - the fate suffered by every other race in the known universe.
This benevolence doesn't stop at their AI, either. They're good to their galactic neighbors, stopping by to help them in their time of need or providing diplomatic advice to some of the more, ahem, eldritch-y species. Turns out that giving them a cute hat is a big ice-breaker.
The tone of this work is absolutely perfect. It's comedic when it needs to be, dramatic when it wants to be, and appropriately handles some of the harder topics.
This story reads more like a series of vignettes, loosely related short stories, and a few ongoing volumes taking place within the same shared universe. It never feels discordant, though and the author handles it very well. The threads are woven together well enough that the chapters complement each other, and the scene changes are never jarring.
The characters were endearing and well-written (my personal favorite is Amander of the "Texas Forever trading fleet). The cute aliens are also an added bonus, with constant reminders to not pet your coworkers.
This is a fun, approachable read that gives off "cozy sci-fi" vibes. Highly recommend.

This work is like a large collection of shorter stories. I had spoken with the Author and received a nicely curated list of which stories fall into which chunks (funny, sad, action packed, etc). I Picked several from different categories and wow. The author has a clear range of skills in writing these stories.
A particular one I really liked was about a sentient tank. It was absurd. It was ridiculous. The entire premise was silly....but you actually care about the character. It's so artfully crafted. I will be following this author for sure and continue to check out the massive pool of great content here, as I suggest anyone do the same.

I absolutely adore this series.  While i'm not sure i agree wholeheartedly with the loneliness hypothesis, the author really captures what it means to be a non-dickbag human being way down at a quantum level.  For being a silly and somewhat campy depiction, i honestly believe the author has predicted human behavior with an accuracy on par with Gibson, Huxley, or Orwell. I love it.  I encourage you to read it.  I wish i could put googly eyes and a kukri on it.

Fantastic reading, a truly heartfelt and unique glimpse of a better future for humanity amongst the stars.  I stumbled across this series reading through "the humans are space orks" reddit. While thoroughly its own I believe that "looking for friends, will travel" has absolutely perfected the genre. If you're looking for peak HFY you're in the right place.

A wonderful adventure of fun, anger, suspense and other feelings!
Never gets boring, even upon several readings.
Plenty of characters you will love, hate, or love to hate.
Looking forward to where this universe goes and just how weird Terrans make it, the adorable half suicidal monkeys that they are

*edit my original review was taken down because of word padding to meet the count. This is the short version*Okay, cool, I get to do the first review!I have always been a big fan of the "humans are space orcs" genre. This story is wonderful because it takes all those stories and makes a wonderful whole.I usually do not like multiple MCs and viewpoints; however, the author has done a wonderful job of keeping things coherent, with the multiple povs from various species and factions working really well to further expand the narrative. The story is well written and has a wide emotional range; you will laugh, cry, mourn and celebrate. The characters are well rounded and interesting, everything from an uplifted dog turned scientist to a sentient nanite swarm... and murder kitties. There may also be a Roomba named Ramsey who tries to kill organics with his knife.Read it. It's worth it, I promise

This is a fantastic story! The author has created a endless number of interesting and distinct characters while celebrating some of the best parts of humanity.  This story has everything, excellent humor, bits of well written action and lots of heart warming slice-of-life about humans being their best possible selves in a huge galaxy.  I can not wait for more chapters!
