Description

Arthur Wan is just a scientist, with moderate accomplishments and a side hobby in journalism. That is, until his hobby leads him to uncovering a group of pirates experimenting with forbidden technology. The discovery begins a chain of events that leads to him, eventually, becoming an Inquisitor, those who ensure that dangerous technology is not furthered. But something sets their eyes on the galaxy, something that is far beyond his, or anyone's wildest imagination.

This story is one that focuses on the messy collision that happens when fantasy intrudes on sci-fi. The first seven chapters can be thought of as a long-winded prologue or prelude, and the collision actually happens after the setting is established. There will be one chapter per week, consisting of 10,000 words at minimum. Any and all criticism is appreciated, and I hope you enjoy.

Interesting story about a futuristic, universe wide Inquisition, where the main character is one of it's investigators. Instead of fighting against old school witches, they fight agains future-relevant threats to mankind: gene editing, war cyborgs, and star destructions.
The main storyline is about the various cases that Arthur solves on a miriad of planets and environements, with background hints of something more world-changing taking place in the shadows.
The world building is quite interesting, with humanity, and the various races having mixed and evolved. Arthur himself is a sort of psychic.

Good grammar and a lot of imagination, but lacking internal consistency and well thought through world building.
There are a variety of issues, like when one of the highest ranking military members is promoted/appointed in a cafeteria after less training and experience time than a college degree. Or when a racist decides that it is a good idea to antagonize someone armed and vested with all possible authority. Or when a ranged combatant closes to near melee range for no reason. Or when an investigator kills an accomplice to a crime without interrogating him for any information besides his guilt. Or when said accomplice was surprised when giving info on where the best place to attack resulted in an attack there. Or when a small colony (by which I mean over half of the towns in the US are bigger than it, 52.3%) without any enemies has significant fortifications in place.
