Legends of the Six Realms - A LitRPG Adventure
Community Rating
Description
Connor is a game hacker that gets paid to beat the latest VRMMORPG games. When he takes a job in the newest VR world, Legends of the Six Realms, he finds himself stuck in the game with no way out. Worse, his consciousness is actually stuck in the realm of the Fae.
Follow Connor as he makes new friends and attempts to defeat all six realms and return to his own reality. In the process, he may just save humanity from the evil machinations of the Realm of the Fae.
The Legends of the Six Realms story will have six main story lines (one for each world). Chapters will be released daily, Monday through Friday, or whenever the heck I get around to it. They will be coming fast and furious, though, so you won't be disappointed :)

- S.N. KeirsteadRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Standard VMMORPG fare, although the main character Connor sets the story apart from the traditional isekai-themed. He's a talented hacker that knows what he's doing having been through a fair number of MMORPGs himself. It shows in his dialogue and actions.
He's confident and doesn't freak out when thrust into a new world like many other protagonists in the genre.
Stats and skills are there, but it isn't as in-depth as other worlds, but that's not necessarily a bad thing depending on your preferences. It's a much smoother read in my opinion without excessive numbers.
Prose is well written. Grammar is great. Solid read all around. - Casey BacaRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Story: Both the real world scenes and the game world were intriguing. I know this is a litrpg, but I actually found myself loving the the real world scenes more. The birth of the sentient mega computer and the fae king were great. I need to know more about how the mega computer and fae are going to interact.
Character: Not many to get to know yet save for the mc, who has an interesting job. I wanted to know more about the cheat code system though and how he learns them or obtains them. The "hacker" job I'm not sure how he really works, other than playing for people. I still feel like #12 would be pretty high up in a world where virtualization is basically everything, but he seemed pretty desperate because of it.
Grammar: Didn't really get taken out of my immersion by mistakes. There was one really long sentence and one point early on that had me look twice. Good editing and proofing.
Style: I admit I am not an avid litrpg reader, and I get that the genre has the game screen elements, and most of them here were on point, but one issue I did have was during the combat sometimes where an action is described, then immediately followed by the game screen saying the exact same thing. Like with the dodged attack in the goblin fight. Seemed a little weird to me.
Overall, fun to read. - Banner CaygeonRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is really interesting, and the author does a really great job of building two (almost kind of 3 worlds) at the same time. The in real life world where the MC lives and the metaverse in which he's progressing and playing the game.
Both worlds are really well done and draw you in to learn more. I also like the idea of Tokyo 30 years in the future being explored.
My only criticism of the story would be the characters motivations. Everything they are doing is fine, and I like the idea of the underachieving genius...but I just want to know a little bit more about why he is the way he is early in the story. I didn't feel compelled by the MC or his friend very much. Even something as simple as saying where is family is, or why they weren't there, would give a bit of humanity to the MC.
Mr Grey is a cool character and I'm excited to learn more. The leveling up, inventory, in game inexperience is top notch, it totally feels as though you are in the game. (Also I want to play 6 realms right now!!)
All in all, address the character's humanity a bit earlier and keep up with the awesome world building!
