Legend of the Virgin Vampire

Description

Shy geek Nate Papadakis has a rose-colored view of vampires. Who could complain about living forever and sampling the nubile flesh of one's hot, female classmates? Not that he's ever had any particular fantasies about any particular girls, but you get the drift.

But when Nate actually *becomes* a vampire, he discovers that nothing about vampirism is as convenient as it seems. In a maelstrom of bloodlust, darkness, and newly-unleashed fury, can Nate retain anything that's left of his precious humanity? And, more importantly, will there be anyone strong enough to stop him if he can't?

Contains a vampire harem and lots of geeky stuff. Illustrated by Jesse Fanta of PopChromatic. Currently updates Tuesdays and Fridays, but days and times are subject to change as I experiment.

NOTE: This is a FIRST DRAFT. Certain sections are guaranteed to drag and major revisions will be made upon completion. This would be a good one to follow if you've ever wanted to see a work of fiction develop from beginning to end.

This is awesome, you should read it. It has great art in almost every chapter and it's been an action-packed ride from the get-go. I loved the Originals tv show and this gives similar vibes to that. I'm not normally that into reading about vampires though, but this hit different. I look forward to seeing where this goes.

a very entertaining harem+vampire story. it executes the tropes fairly well, has believable characters and keeps you wondering where the plot is going. the art is very, very good and i could easily see it being published in a Pro setting.
i like how it delivers the wish-fulfillment fantasy that's implied in most stories on this website with a lot of self awareness; like, sure, i'm getting some satisfaction from putting myself in Nate's shoes, but with it comes shame, guilt etc. the author is not blind to the consequences of MC's actions. these ethical dilemmas create a lot of tension, and i believe the story is better for it.
a must read if you're into the genre. even if you don't, it's worth checking out too; i mean it's a light and fun read with good art, what else would you waste your time on? the 13123th cultivation story? cmon.

This is an early review, thus a leap of faith.
After our protagonist get's curb stomped by a homicidal vampiress, after he tried to sass himself into a quick instead of agonizingly slow death by vampire, she turns him into one to get back at him. Whimsical chaotic shenanigans ensue.
We are not that far into the story, but so far it seems fun. Keep in mind that this is a comedy, thus you can't read it while taking it completely serious. Otherwise you'll ruin your experience. The setting seems thought through and promising. It also has art. Which isn't highly detailed or something, but has crystalized the most important factor of web novel illustrations, it's hecking clean.
I'll probably expand on my review as the setting extendes.
So far I can wholly recommend you giving this novel a try.
As the age-old adage goes, never kill the part of you that is cringe, kill the part that cringes.

I've never been much of a fan for the vampire genre, but this is most definitely an exception.
The characters could do with some work, but they are far better than the avalanche of 2D characters flowing through RR at the moment.
The main character is well written, an innocent nerd grappling with the changes his body and mind and morals are going through.
He's a textbook nerd character, but as the story progresses we get increasing depth. MJFanta has done what many authors don't do nowadays, focusing on the emotions as much as the action.
I admit the story --inner developments aside-- isn't something to write home about. The main character and excellent style and flawless grammar of the author make up for that.
