Description

In a world where to write and read is a magic that can change the world, where any writer or reader can put their mark and influence upon reality, a massive war decades in the past has resulted in a small cluster of cities becoming cut off from the rest of the world, and becoming as far as they know the last vestiges of humanity, surrounded on all sides by monster-infested badlands. Ruled over by the scholars of the spire, the grandest library ever built, the cities struggle to survive in a harsh and possibly soon to end world.  But something is coming that will change this world forever. Can the Scholars of the spire protect their home, and can the world be made right again? Only time will tell.

For these first 4 chapters, though no one knows the context of the Fire Drakes and Inferno Walkers - it is clear that there are immense intentions of darkness behind these creatures. It seems something inexplicably draws them near the Libraries as an origin of creation.
For the institution itself, there is a clear manipulative being posing amongst the mages who stand guard of that place. Their reasons are unknown at the moment, but it spells tragedy for Madge, Silas, Daedulus, Zahria, Gedra, Ayave and Gerald as inhabitants of the story.
There's a palpable tension present between Madge and Silas as the two respective, but clashing sides, over the books themselves. They both have parallels to one's style being Old Testament and the other following a new Christ-like path. A conflict such as this will divide the school, tainting their youngest recruits on how to handle the Tomes building's enemies. I sense there is a deeper motive on what or who is guiding the fiery attacks, the mention of the spellforged people hints at abuse and exploitation. There could be a motive of revenge here based upon the discrimination they faced by the normal mages who lived in every area that got burnt alive - as the spellforged got spared.
Can't wait to see how Chapter 5 develops this further!
