i started reading this story at the recommendation of another author i follow and i must day its been pretty good so far, its a power fantasy but the fights do have some stakes as the mc learns about their power and skills while they travel and learn about a new world that they have been thrust into

I love this story. An introvert human dragon gaining powers in a strange new world with her magicwielding bear companion. Well written and exciting characters and places. Also interesting to follow her advancement which is quite different from other humans in this world. Also humans seem to be real scum.

Because this story is a solid isekai/portal fantasy. The grammar is spot on, characters aren't cookie cutter, and the combat is a joy to read. I personally enjoy the MC's power set, and the natural feeling of the world building. If you're debating on this story, I recommend giving it a shot.

NOTICE: I beta read for this fiction. The review was of my own volition, though.
Kara has a lot of passion put into it, and it shows. This is my favorite of Melas' works, and I've read most of what he's put out.
The premise is simple: Kara gets isekaied by the last remaining dragon, AKA the last surviving god of this new world, and is given a choice to take his power and carry on his legacy or die of her injuries.
It explores a unique world where Kara doesn't immediately join up with a bunch of other humans and suddenly has the Standard Isekai Experience™. The world is pretty unique, and I look forward to everyone finding some of the really interesting worldbuilding Melas has put into the story.
Kara's got much more characterization than the standard white-bread isekai protag, and I definitely look forward to finding more about her past and seeing how it influences her interactions with other characters in the future.
The progression is solid as well. Kara doesn't have a system, but she has a ton of unrealized magic potential thanks to her dragonsoul, and everything she can do feels awesome every time she uses it.
    Give it a try.

It took a little bit to get going, but Kara has proved to be both emotionally complex and action packed. The various power systems are interesting, especially with the differences between between the various non-human races.
The world building is solid, and done without huge blocks of exposition. It's definitely worth reading.

Captivating read, easy to get lost into the world.
I find it difficult to think of how to describe the story without giving spoilers.
Standard isekai checklist/bingo board could be used for reading as a group.
Abducted from earth, given magic, humans are ... Not very well regarded. Expect usual OP protagonist problems, like where in the heck have I woken up?

I was enjoying the story, the characters were entertaining, the worldbuilding was solid, power system seemed interesting.
Unfortunately, the author got too stub-happy. I don't begrudge a stub, but to stub ALL of the active chapters beggars belief.
I was keeping up to date daily and my last-read chapter (30) showed a 'stubbing in one month' message, so I felt secure taking a minor break of a month or so to binge Ar'Kendrithyst, and now I've skipped ahead 7 chapters.
Never have I seen anyone stub up to AFTER the release of the chapter where they start warning about the stub. Madness!
7 chapters is enough to feel too lost in the story to want to continue, but also not enough to warrant going and reading it on Amazon.
Also frankly, I don't like how it went down, and I've plenty else to read.
    So farewell Kara and co.
    Good luck, safe travels!

I think this story would have been so much better if the dragon was the MC. It would been so good if the dragon was the one to save and  avenge his race, instead of a human who had nothing to do with them. I ask why?  did he go throw-all the trouble to summon a human form another world, who going to end up hating him. If he had have all this power, why didn't he just try to heal his soul and ask others to help him because we know their are other races, and they would have atleast helped him. But no, for unknown reasons we have to give a human all the power and have her save his race. which not only disrespecting the dragons and humiliating them. It was humans who killed all of them  just becuase some of them were bad. Its basically like saying a group humans are bad so we have to kill their species. not only its ridiculous, but also just downright bad writing just so a human can be the MC of this story. All i have say is that It would been not only unique and interesting but a good non-human story if the dragon didn't get killed for plot reason. The golden dragon deserved much more than what he got, he died just so he can give the power to humans who killed his race.
    F***ing ridiculous 🙄.

When I think about this story, I feel as if I should like this because it is written well, but there's just one massive problem with it: it mercilessly uses angst.
Let me use a case example:
Kara makes it to a settlement known as the Sanctuary City of Alyone. She's already been wandering around for months with her furry friend, but needs better wares on her before she travels further, at least until she reaches a human settlement.
Eventually, there's a side plot involving a dark elf prostitute named Arjin. Arjin works in a seedy area, but she lives with a dwarf who's running some kind of smithery/inn hybrid (it's weird, but it works) because she has run away from her family. Turns out, her family is a one of warriors, and they have been disappointed in her because she simply refuses to fight and some other reasons. However, since she refuses to fight, her manacore (something every nonhuman has that allows for magic) is at absurdly low levels, thus she is rather weak. Also, she is first encountered being harassed and abused by orcs when leaving from her prostitution. Also, the entire reason why she does the prostitution in the first place is because she mentally beats herself up for being a freeloader to said dwarf and wants to repay him when said dwarf allows her to stay for free with no strings attached. Also, there's a human who's also an exceedingly crazy killer who just coincidentally kills a major orc character in this world in front of Arjin, and most of the orcs immediately blame Arjin (they're tribalistic for various reasons).
It takes literally 10 chapters from when Arjin was introduced to realize she can actually overcome her fears.
I've rearranged the plot threads, but know that this presentation is like this for a lot of characters. There's nothing wrong with this; it's just when there's too much of it, it's pretty much the English expression in my title.

Premise touches on magic but 30% of chapters are angsty flashbacks
Very hard to read past the random dry flashbacks, they only serve to make the MC more unlikeable
When the summary makes mention of godly power, one would expect something interesting about the MC possibly power scaling or a zero to hero sort of ordeal but it’s just chock full of angst
    not for me
    would not recommend
