The world building is solid, and done without huge blocks of exposition. It's definitely worth reading. - Bahumat989Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I decided to take a read when I saw that book 1 was ending and being stubbed soon.
Keeping it relatively short and sweet, I enjoyed the premise of the work, though the first initial chapters felt a little wonky at times. The author starts hitting their stride once more characters and points of view are introduced and they can fully start explaining the world they are crafting. Overall, looking good. 5 stars for style.
The main character sometimes feels a little one note, BUT they also are understandable- being dumped into a foreign world means living day to day, not focussing on 'I must become a God as soon as possible'. Thr author has introduced other POV to help supply information that otherwise Kara would somehow have to know. Looking forward to her development through the coming chapters as she is once again out of relative safety. 4.5 stars for characters
There is no issues with syntax and language in this story. Not much to say, 5 stars
Finally, Story. As mentioned, we're basically ending the first Big Conflict introducing the antagonists and pushing Kara out of her newly found safe zone. Story had made sense with POV swaps helping to cover what happens away from Kara. 5 stars, no complaints here.
Overall, as we run up to end of book 1? 5 stars, give it a shot if you have time. Chapters are fairly dense which I like. - CrazyEDRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I love this story. An introvert human dragon gaining powers in a strange new world with her magicwielding bear companion. Well written and exciting characters and places. Also interesting to follow her advancement which is quite different from other humans in this world. Also humans seem to be real scum.
- Knight22Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Because this story is a solid isekai/portal fantasy. The grammar is spot on, characters aren't cookie cutter, and the combat is a joy to read. I personally enjoy the MC's power set, and the natural feeling of the world building. If you're debating on this story, I recommend giving it a shot.
- Pudding_bowlRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I look forward to each of these updates, and where the story is going. It is a great idea for a story with an enjoyable mc. I honestly feel like she is just now getting into the training montage arc, she seems OP, but that seems more to be that she hasn’t met many things stronger than her, but what she has shows her she has a lot of room to grow, so I can see why it’s weak to strong, and boy do I want to be here and reading when she gets strong. I see major potential in this story and really would love to see her reaching god level power.
- RaggaMuffinRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Binged it up to ch16 the last two days, and will continue to do so.
I have to disagree strongly with reviews claiming this as 'basic copy paste' and whatnot.
The prose alone is great and changes from charakter to charakter (eg. Dragon vs mc in the 'opening conversation), giving them a unique feel.
The charakters themselves are interresting and the setting itself has potential for world changing events like in "Azarinth Healer". Definitely giving me similar vibes to that one (which i personally find great).
The worldbuilding is ofc in its infancy, but there are interresting hints and dynamics at play.
And then the "omg, the mc is op!" 'critique'. The synopsys says the mc gets the powers of a dragon. Dragons are THE STAPLE of op fantasy creature, and for good reason. If the powers she got would be weaker than they are, the same people would cry about that, too. If you do not want to read about a strong mc, why do you choose stories about them? Do you need to compensate for smth. by writing bad reviews?
All in all, I definitely think this is worth a read. - Slifer274Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0NOTICE: I beta read for this fiction. The review was of my own volition, though.
Kara has a lot of passion put into it, and it shows. This is my favorite of Melas' works, and I've read most of what he's put out.
The premise is simple: Kara gets isekaied by the last remaining dragon, AKA the last surviving god of this new world, and is given a choice to take his power and carry on his legacy or die of her injuries.
It explores a unique world where Kara doesn't immediately join up with a bunch of other humans and suddenly has the Standard Isekai Experience™. The world is pretty unique, and I look forward to everyone finding some of the really interesting worldbuilding Melas has put into the story.
Kara's got much more characterization than the standard white-bread isekai protag, and I definitely look forward to finding more about her past and seeing how it influences her interactions with other characters in the future.
The progression is solid as well. Kara doesn't have a system, but she has a ton of unrealized magic potential thanks to her dragonsoul, and everything she can do feels awesome every time she uses it.
Give it a try. - The Messenger 0Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Eleven chapters in and I'm already so excited to see more of Kara's journey! So far, I've loved the worldbuilding, the fight scenes, the characters, and everything in between!
Everything in this world has felt unique and mystical! In just these first chapters MelasDelta has managed to paint a picture of a world brimming with life that I can't wait to see expand in the future.
I especially can't wait to see more of all the characters here! So far, every character introduced has been rich with personality, and all of their interactions with each other have been a joy to read.
The progression system is relatively simple, but it's certainly effective. The worldbuilding has laid the ground for a land that I can't wait to see explored! Overall, it's been a wonderful read, and you should certainly give it a try as well. :D - nghtstrRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story has been excellent so far! It has a really good pace and the characters (I love Angel so much!!) are not what you would expect. Honestly, this story had me hooked from the first chapter, and that is truly indicative of your skill as a wordsmith. Really well done!!
Oh, before I forget. I really love how you are using “The System” not as the character’s progression, but as an unseen antagonist! I had never seen that before, and it is a welcome breath of fresh air to this genre. - AleisterGroutRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0i started reading this story at the recommendation of another author i follow and i must day its been pretty good so far, its a power fantasy but the fights do have some stakes as the mc learns about their power and skills while they travel and learn about a new world that they have been thrust into
