- Illusory MageRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style: The style needs work with the perspective changes, it can feel a bit choppy at times, other than that I don’t have any other issues besides more developed perspectives. Can’t really start one for a bit, switch, and then switch back for a paragraph or two. Ending a perspective with more detail and dialogue would be nice.
Story: The direction and execution of the story is quite interesting, especially with the modification of existing species and materials in order to create a truly hellish dungeon. While I agree the motivations of the protagonist needs work, with much to be desired, I don’t think it drags down the interesting ideas and choices made as the story progresses.
Grammar: I didn’t have any real problems with the grammar, it felt cohesive enough to not drag it down at all, although occasionally a few paragraphs can be quite long.
Character: Again, the character seems a bit bland, with little to no backstory, it’d be interesting if the author added little hints as to his previous occupation in order to make it more interesting with how he’s aware of some of the biomechanics involved with his creations. Perhaps an aspiring biologist who was forced into another occupation?
Overall I find the premise intriguing, especially with the flexibility and integration of the various biomechanics that the dungeon monsters possess. I don’t think I’ve read a dungeon story where the dungeon monsters have that much of a synergy with one another, resulting in a significant increase in compact power. - burningGroundRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5We start with a babyrage protagonist (who has the personality of a 6 years old brat who wants his mummy to give him candy but she says no so he throws a tantrum) and the typical development for these GODSLAYING series. It's so edgy that it became funny, in an ironical way. The unadultered, unfiltered RAGE. THE NEXT INCARNATION OF ARMAGEDDON. Very stronk /r/youngpeopleyoutube energy. The opening statements of the series could almost made me misinterpret a poor astronaut getting yeeted out of the spaceship and malding. Oops.
The Asbestos moment was the best part of the story---the depictation of an everyday product (that is harmful) to become a pivoting point of the story. For this device alone I increased the score by 2.
The childishness of how obsessed(?) the protagonist can be endearing at this point of reading the story but can eventually turn into a bore fast if the author doesn't intend to pivot the story to a comedy and makes the subsequent developments generic like any other godslaying stories there are.
