First of all. I thought this would be another of those females that become a character in the book that would somehow get the attention/love of the main character/villain/ or some hidden character. After reading it through volume 2, my low expectation rose to the point I am now fascinated and wants to read more.
STYLE: The writing style is a bit different from what I like to read but they are well executed from the first perspective of the Protagonist though the Dash(-) instead of the Quotation mark(") was a bit confusing in their dialogue, so long you don't mind a bit change of the writing style, it is quite fascinating to read what the Protagonist would do in such situation.
GRAMMAR: So far I have not noticed any confusing or wrong grammar.
CHARACTER: The characters have their own personality and flaws. I don't want to spoil much but in what's about to come, if you like a -ahem-Something that could be said as a character's blackening | Possessiveness or akin to that, then you can try this story.
STORY: The current Protagonist is the mother of the supposed to be born Heroine who in the future would take the throne back from the tyrant. Well, the story is set in ten years before that happens though I doubt the supposed Heroine would even be born as the Protagonist is clearly against marrying the Crown Prince.
I'm currently in Volume 2 and from what I get so far is that the destined story (What will happen in the Book) is different and intriguing on what's going to happen next.

Very well done, a nice start for this type of fiction. I like the fresh take but still sticking to most tropes. The style is easy to read and the grammar on point. As always there is room for improvement but that applies to everyone. I'm liking the characters so far and look forward to reading more!
I have only one criticism and that is the curious choice to use em dash for the dialogue tag. I have never seen that before and well I don't get why it is used here?
