Description

VOLUME II brings to you the shenanigans of Samaya and the Emperor in the modern world as they desperately try to get back to the one they left behind!!

“9… 8…. 7… 6…. 5…. 4…. 3…. 2… 1!”

She stepped forward. Throwing a “SEE YOU IN A FEW HOURS!” in the loudest voice she could manage towards the pilot, she ran towards the edge and jumped, unaware of what a big, fat lie those words would turn out to be.

Samaya Dhar, codename Maya, was a Special Agent of the Third Eye Agency, an intelligence agency that operates worldwide to ensure peace and order, no matter the means. On a mission, she finds herself transported to a strange and unfamiliar world.First order of things. Steal some appropriate clothes.Second order of things. Find out where you are.Third order of things. Try to find …. Wait, is that a half-dead child in the alleyway? What the heck?

The boy looks on the verge of death. She cannot bring herself to leave the child alone. It’s fine. She will still find a way back. She will still go back home. She will just take the little bun with her.

Or so she thought until the little bun caught the eyes of some very important people.

Turns out, the little bun is a Prince. And his father wants him at the Palace. But hell would freeze over before Samaya let anyone take her child from her.

This is the story of a woman who is just trying to protect her found family while looking for a way home and ends up being entangled in a big web of politics, harem intrigue, assassination plots, and one infuriating man who is at the center of it all.

I can honestly say that I’m obsessed with this story. I’ve read it twice already and I seriously can’t get enough! The characters are really well written and I can’t wait to see how the story develops. If only I didn’t have to wait so long between chapters, it would be even better!

This story is only in its infancy, appropriately enough, but it is already excellent. It has a gripping hook that introduces a highly competent female lead. The story does a good job of setting up worldbuilding and backstory without dragging at all.
When the main character enters the other world, they do not have a standard reaction at all. I greatly enjoy how the protagonist is both observant and competent, and mature. There are some issues, such as a lack of names being given to characters who ought to have them. And there is a moment where the protagonist uses too much force against people who don't warrant it.
Even so, I think this story is well worth following to see where it goes. Well worth five stars, especially with the excellent descriptions and worldbuilding.

Really enjoyable to read.  Story is very compelling. The main character is interesting. There is a full cast of characters. The world setting is an imperial china wuxia.  Not everyone has abilities. Our main character is from an advanced civilization. So while she has no ki powers, she has faster than normal reflexes etc.  There is action and romance, but the main plots are more about palace intrigue.  The writing is pretty crisp with good dialogue.

So... I want to preface this by saying it's amazing. Just read it. I usually don't read many works on RR longterm, but this is definitely one I'm going to keep going back to. The story follows Samaya when she's transported into a world sort-of resembling Ancient China, but the premise and characters are incredibly unique and well-done. Onto the breakdown!
Style: I really liked the style! It was succinct, clear, and straight forward, but it still did a fantastic job of portraying the characters and their emotions. This story does have multiple POVs, which I personally adore, and I have no complaints. The overall prose and narrative voice is incredibly well done, especially for Samaya.
Story: The worldbuilding is immediately fleshed out in the prologue, and it's fantastic. I'm not sure how to explain it, but this story is very... self aware? An organization is called "TEA," which I thought was hilarious, and the author did a fantastic job of acknowledging how cute the name was in comparison to the actual acts of the organization. But, that's just a tiny thing in the prologue... what about the rest of the chapters? It's just as well done! We really get to navigate this strange world alongside Samaya and grow with her, and it feels as if we're standing right where she is despite the story being in 3rd person. Overall, every chapter leaves me with immense anticipation for what comes next.
Grammar: Some very minor issues, but absolutely nothing that takes away from the story. The author's first language isn't English, but her writing is far surpasses many, many native authors. It's seriously very impressive.
Character: THE BEST PART! When I tell you I absolutely adore everything about how Urmie handles characterization. I want there to be more characters just so I can see them be beautifully described and have genuine, realistic interactions. Samaya is likeable, alert, intelligent, hard working, and an MC I can cheer for. I haven't seen much of the boy, but his interactio

I only created this Account only to be able to give reviews, and I only give reviews for stories I like  with the hope that the authors keep up the good work, so no separate Rating for style, character,  grammar or story is needed in my opinion. A mother caring for her child, palace intrigue, romance and fighting. 5 Stars plain and simple.

This book follows an Isekai'd woman who takes care of a small child that she finds in an alleyway soon after she arrives. I came for cute (I mean look at that cover), but I stayed for the conspiracy. What conspiraacy? I'm afraid I can't say. I've already said too much! This is a story of left turns and reveals you didn't see coming, but it is always a character driven affair. I enjoyed the first few chapters, and if you give it a try, you might too!

I'm gonna be honest I'm usually not for these kinda novels .i.e
    Eastern fantasy harem politics etc
But a novel called Surviving the Succession introduced me to this world and now this is another on par.
It got me hook line and sinker and i spent 3 hours binging it.hooke being the name.line being the synopsis and then i sunk.
It uses the ingredients available quite well and even has some moments when u squeal outta emotions so 10/10 good read...
Now off to library to stew for a year.bbye

    ✍️ Notes:
This series was slept on by me for months and I am mad about it! I don't think I've had so much relatable or well-crafted fun. The tension of the overarching story as well as the world is exquisite. The FMC is relatable because she brings this rough and tumble modern sensibility, attitude, and audacity to stand up to anyone, including the Emperor and the Imperial Harem, if it means protecting her people and what she believes in. This is also an amazing Assassin meets Emperor, forced proximity story. Tie that in with the journey of motherhood and found family, the incredibly nuanced take o

Just excellent palace drama. I have read quite a few at this point, and this is one of the best.
It definitely follows some of the tropes that many of you may have read in various translated works, but also sidesteps quite a few of the narrative pitfalls those stories produce.
The MC is successfully presented as an intelligent and experienced individual. Her skills match her environments, and she very quickly learns the new skills that need to be developed for each new situation.
That is not to say that the MC is present as infallible. Far from it.
All of the characters, from protagonists to antagonists feel thought out and real. Their motivations make sense and do not feel willed out of the ether.
The only really complaint is some spelling issues and some confusing pronoun misuse. Usually it can be inferred what was meant, but some occasions did give me a hard time following a series of events.
The world building and structure make sense by not being overly explained. It does require some knowledge of similar stories or cultures. There seems to be an expectation, like a nod and a wink, that this is not your first palace drama.
Overall it is what you would expect from a palace drama, though with potentially less face slapping than I'm used too. Like. Way less than you would expect. But it is very readable, and very enjoyable.
    Continue the good work 👍🏼
