When an accident kicks Sean Lawrence forward in time, he finds himself square in the apocalyptic end-times. The world is doomed, and he only has a mysterious guidebook, a leather jacket, and a home-made knife to keep him company. He could spend his days grinding low-level mobs, gathering rat pelts, and waiting for a chance to escape.
Or he could rise up, slay dragons, and fight against the odds. Faced with a choice between the dead-end life he’s been living and a possibility of greatness, Sean has to decide if he’s willing to risk his life and more for a chance to save Earth itself.

- Cannon254Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0To preface this, I still have yet to find a story from this author that I do not like.
Good puns, fun characters, good story
I like simple and straightforward stories as much as any other story, so this has been one I really enjoyed. Did the character have it easy? Hell no. But he was also not presented with the kind of moral dilemmas that can break a character, and because he is an enjoyable character, this works quite well
Loved it - CayzleRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0As a fan of this writer's other novel, I have to say that this is looking like a winner, too! Savvy self-aware protagonist; interesting world-building, situations, and challenges; clever, high-quality writing ... what's not to like? Too often, characters in web novels are just not that smart -- like the horror movie red shirt walking alone into the basement, the hero is mostly just carrying the idiot ball. But just eight chapters in, I can tell that this story features a thoughtful, rational hero who does not make me yell in protest at his poor life choices. I'm looking forward to more.
- DandymanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0R.C. has proven beyond a reasonable doubt (10 chapters or so) that Deadworld Isekai was not a fluke - the man writes the good words.
A clueless but earnest protagonist, Sean offers a believable window into how an average person would react when thrust into a system-apocalypse style future. Almost immediately, we the reader are immersed in a strange new world with little more explanation into how things work than the MC.
The story is only in its infancy but it has all the ingredients to make it an enjoyable long term read. I can’t judge what hasn’t been published yet, but having read the author’s other work I feel comfortable saying that if you’re enjoying the story by chapter 10, you’ll continue to do so. If you don’t, it might not be for you. - DooomCookieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Greatly enjoyed.
The story is tightly plotted, well paced. I always appreciate when a story has a beginning, middle and end.
The prose flows nicely and is lots of funny moments. System is humorous without being quippy
The setting and the monsters are incredibly inventive. Refreshing to read compared to the usual fare.
Characters and dialogue are serviceable enough. I can't say I'm invested in any of them besides Cedarhelm and the main character. The MC's "build" is weird, I don't love it but it serves the plot well and makes for lots of great moments (and that's the point) - ExewonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm not really good at reviewing, but How to survive at the end of the world is honestly good enough that I really wanna help boost the author anyway.
The story is still in the beginning stages, but so far it has been an engaging romp through a world that really does a good job pulling you in.
Something this author does really well is the system itself. The messages and such are really engaging to the point the system feels like a character itself. A thing the author really used to great effect in it's previous work. (Deadworld isekai, also one you really should check out.)
He also uses a trope of 'trash' on the surface classes/skills being good when used well. A personal favorite of mine. ANd he does it very well!
So yeah, the characters are great, the trails and tribulations are great, the system is great and the world is very good as well. It's worth a read for sure - GearRatioRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I was an early review for this author's first novel, and ended up reading all of that one so far (deadworld isekai).
The writer likes to do a pretty slow progression, which I don't always like but I like here. I like the characters so far, and I'm looking forward to knowing what MC's class ends up being. Overall, good so far and I have high hopes. - RedPanda87Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0You think I'm kidding when I call this a treat? Well how about this. You know how you have a favourite dish that you very rarely get to eat cause of various constraints? And you probably get super excited whenever you do, in fact, get a chance to try it? This book is not that. What it is, is that nice refreshing taste of lemonade after a sweaty day at work. Or a cup of hot chocolate you sip on in front of the fireplace all snuggled up under the blankets after a particularly bad snowstorm. Or your daily cup of ritual coffe. Point is, it's something to look forward to every day and puts a smile on your face whenever you get a chance to read it. As for whenever you don't, even if it won't ruin your day completely, it'll still make you feel that the day was just a little off.. Incomplete.
You know, we should probably really do something about this word count problem. It's atrocious that I have to write a minimum of 200 words. Jesus Christ are we there yet or what? Nope, guess we're still going. Tell me, dear author, how has your day been and how are the kids? Have you lost all your authority already or is there still some time left for that. - SilvertoothRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0How to survive the end of the world is a book that unlike many knows where it is going from the start. Its a action packed emotional adventure.
Its a LIT RPG that feels grounded but the more you read the more you fly into space.
Its a great trilogy by a great writer. - Tanuki Suit RubyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have laughed multiple times as I have read this, mostly at the system descriptions. Only concern is possible story pacing, and a few grammar concerns. However, there are only a few points I want to put forward. I am happy to say the story can have my 5 stars overall, 4.875 overall, since there are only a handful of critiques I would like to present.
Style -- 5 stars, easy to read, action and author voice is written very strongly. You get a sense of the movement and the struggle of the characters.
Story -- The story pacing feels like the world is slightly more hollow than it could be, and yet it still has non-protagonist characters that the reader can get invested in. Yet, the world being in Apocalypse mode when it already feels slightly empty is a concern. The descriptions outside of combat feel a little spare. Even in a world on the brink, the population could be more than what we see, and there could be a bit more understanding of more than the few handful of named characters.
Grammar -- A good em dash is fine, but sometimes a comma is better, and there have been a couple of word choice/homonym issues. If it were published in print, I would expect the copy to be cleaned up.
Character -- Every character feels like their own person, with their own motivations, and the protagonist's own voice doesn't short sell this. Narration is well done, and framed well within POV.
Overall, the writing is fun, and you might have fun reading it out loud. - VedcikkkRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loving it so far. Only thing I’d like to point out is that I’m Kinda wary about Author deciding to make MC too much of a specialist and we don’t see any increase in his other stats. Hopefully Author has a plan for that.
Excited to see where this story goes
