Description
A week ago, he was a college student; now, he was Victor Drakonis, the young lord of House Drakonis.Except, being a young lord was far from what he had imagined or expected.
The house was in turmoil, breaking inside and besieged outside, weakened by the disappearance of Victor’s parents during the Noble’s War.
It seemed his parents had perhaps anticipated this, or so it appeared.
Driven by his intense desire to soar the skies, Victor chose to take matters into his own hands instead of enjoying the life his parents had planned for him.
Turning his life from luxurious second-generation cruise mode to relentless Hellmode.
What to expect:
- Slow and steady growth. Weak to strong MC.- Not a grimdark story, but there will be dark elements.- Flawed characters.- Noble Drama.

- RavensFantasyRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style/Story: The story follows our main character Victor Drakonis as another person appears to inhabit his body. The story setup is interesting as we haven’t learned too much of the one who is residing in Victor’s past life just yet but we learn about Victor as the story progresses.
The story uses the abilities of mana and even though we have yet to see too much of it just yet I am interested to see how Victor will develop the abilities and uses them.
The story of Hellmode contains plenty of worldbuilding and character description that helps us create and see the world in our minds.
The overall prose, paragraph length, and chapter length were done well! I have no complaints with the story set up.
Grammar: I did not see too many grammar mistakes, if any at all. To me the story was written well.
Characters: Victor Drakonis isn’t who he appears to be but who he is inside makes the best of the situation he gets thrown into. Who resides in Victor remains a bit of a mystery to us still which just makes the story that more intriguing. With the bits of flashbacks that we see, I do have mixed feelings for Victor. Part of me feels bad for him but the other is unsure how to feel. Which is always good when readers can form a connection to the character.
In Summary: Hellmode is an interesting story that has plenty of elements laced within it to keep the reader wanting engaged. Between a bit of mystery that we have, the magic, and the bits of drama that we get ties the story together!
The story gets a five star rating from me as I enjoyed the story, the bits of mystery, and the worldbuilding that we get. I saw no problems in the overall structure, flow, or grammar of the story. Amazing start to what could be a great story! - Space AtlasRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Style/Grammar: Hellmode is written in a way that makes it easy to understand and enjoy. The grammar was really good. I couldn't point out any mistakes that were significate enough for me to notice and pull me from the story.
Story: The story is really fun and well thought out. It follows a collage boy how is then thrown into a noble’s body in a world with magic. The exploration of this new world is well done and fun. There is a good amount of complication in the plot which puts a good amount of pressure in the MC. The complication of the lack of magic for the MC makes for a good complication for him to overcome. There is a good amount of world building that really sets the scene for the story.
Character: There are very few characters introduced in the first few chapters, but the exploration of the characters is well done. I'm sure that in later chapter the relationships between characters will deepen and will make much more well-rounded characters. With some more development of the minor characters and the relationship with the MC it will really strengthen the story.
Overall, I found this a really fun read with a good plot, great grammar and characters with a lot of potential. - AuthorCPSwiftRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This is a LitRPG with excellent style and grammar. Word choice, description, etc. are well done. I didn't find one typo. You can tell this author has a great command of language and enjoys painting pictures and manipulating words. Enjoyable! I do feel like there's a bit of a slow start as the character reacts to his new world. However, tension and conflict pick up in Chapter 5 as we're introduced to his schoolmates, offering an opportunity for us to see this character exercise some agency and to get an idea of what his character arc might be for the story amidst all of LitRPG details. I am excited for that because there's some fun to be had with this middle-class college kid in the real world becoming a good-looking young lord in this world. We see it in tidbits like this head-talk... "Being a handsome man is awesome…"
Style. Excellent mastery of the English language. Description is immersive. Good world-building details.
Grammmar. No complaints! Grammar was on point!
Story. I can see this is going somewhere exciting and am intrigued to see where, but it took me to Ch 5 to feel that way. A bit of a slow start, but easily fixed if this is an early draft. Would like to have jumped to action and interaction with new characters sooner. Looking for more tension/conflict and a goal for the main character out of the gate, even if it's a short-term one or one that changes.
Character. A bit muddy in the earlier chapters. Not sure who this character is, what his motivations are, what his damage is that he's going to need to face over the course of the story. However, if this is being published as it's written, it's pretty normal as we authors have to tell the story to figure out our characters. I like Victor, esp here at Ch 5 when I'm getting a better sense of who he is as he interacts with his classmates, so that's a good thing. I am rooting for him, but also looking for what kind of person he is and hints of his inner journey. Also would like to see more of the middle-class
